Remember: Financial health is part of your holistic health

We've been told to work hard, but nobody taught us to plan SMART.
Let's fix that. 🎯

The WEALTH Framework for setting financial goals:
W - Write it down (make it REAL)
E - Exact numbers (not "save more"—"save $2,000")
A - Achievable timeline (be honest about your income)
L - Link to your WHY (legacy? freedom? security?)
T - Track progress (monthly check-ins)
H - Help when needed (community, advisors, resources)

"I want to be financially stable" becomes: "I will save $3,000 for an emergency fund by December 2026 to protect my family's security. I'll save $250/month and track it on the 1st."

See the difference? That's a PLAN.

It's y'all and I'm sharing 1 of the 2 top supplements I swear by for over 15 years - DHEA!
🙌
DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is a hormone naturally produced by your adrenal glands, and it plays a role in producing other hormones including testosterone and estrogen. As we age or experience chronic stress, our DHEA levels can decline, which may contribute to depression, anxiety, low energy, and other issues.
👎🏽
After years of trial and error with my severe depression, I discovered that 50mg of DHEA daily makes a significant difference in managing my symptoms. I won't credit all of my recovery to it, but it's been a crucial tool in my toolbox for over 15 years now.

DHEA is available over the counter, but I recommend talking to your doctor first, especially if you're on other medications. For some people, this one simple addition can make a profound difference in their mental and emotional well-being.
😌
It's not a magic cure, but combined with other healthy practices, it can be a powerful support.

Our community knows what it's like to need a safety net. 💚

Whether it's:
💸Healthcare costs that insurance won't cover
💰Family situations that require quick exit plans
📉Job loss due to discrimination
💵Supporting chosen family in crisis

An emergency fund isn't just smart - it's ESSENTIAL.

Start with $500. Just $500 gives you:
✅A hotel room if you need space NOW
✅First month's rent on a new place
✅Medical care when you can't wait
✅The power to leave situations that aren't safe

Financial security = Personal safety. They're connected.

You deserve both.

When life feels heavy, sometimes the best thing you can do is escape into a different world for a bit.
📚
Reading a book - whether fiction or non-fiction - can transport you, teach you, inspire you, or simply give your mind a break from your own thoughts.
- Fiction allows you to experience other lives and perspectives, which can be deeply comforting when you're struggling with your own situation.
- Non-fiction can provide guidance, tools, and hope that others have overcome similar challenges.

Reading before bed can also help establish a calming routine and is much better for your sleep than scrolling on your phone.
💡
Whether it's a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat, a romance that makes you believe in happy endings, a memoir that shows you you're not alone, or a self-help book that gives you actionable steps, books are powerful medicine.

Start with just 10-15 minutes a day. Join a book club for accountability, visit your local library for free options, or ask friends for recommendations.

Your future self will thank you for the investment in your mind and imagination.

💡The 3-Fund Rule for Unstable Income💡
Hospitality income is unpredictable. Your financial strategy should account for that. 📊

Here's a 3-Fund Rule for service workers:
💚 FUND 1: Weekly Survival ($200-500) This covers your THIS WEEK needs. Groceries, gas, basics.
💚 FUND 2: Monthly Bills ($1,000-2,000) Rent, car, phone. The non-negotiables. Separate account.
💚 FUND 3: Emergency Reserve ($500-3,000) The "car broke down" or "slow season" buffer. DO NOT TOUCH unless actual emergency.

Build up to your goal in each fund, and keep it there!

✅Slow and steady beats the stress of living tip-to-tip.

A couple more favorite apps to keep you healthy holistically. 😊

Hate cooking? The Mealtime app makes healthy eating so easy, you'll actually want to meal prep.

For as much as I talk about nutrition, I HATE cooking, and am not very good at it. Alas, eating healthy (and saving money!) usually requires some cooking, and meal prepping is a great way to do that.

An app I love to use to get ideas for easy recipes is Mealtime. It's free and can be customized to fit your dietary needs, for example if you're a vegetarian or don't like a specific food.

What I really love about this app is that after you choose your meals to prep for the week, it will give you a condensed shopping list! They make it so easy for you, there's no reason to be bored with what you eat or confused about what to get at the grocery store.

I've discovered some delicious meals that I would have never tried if it wasn't for this app too.

If cooking feels overwhelming, this app breaks it down into manageable steps and takes the guesswork out of meal planning. Game changer for people like me who would rather do almost anything else than cook!

🎧One year my new year's resolution was to get over my fear. Debilitating fear from my anxiety disorder that I was about three years into, but I still had enough fear that it was preventing me from accelerating in my career and generally just not being happy in life.
If there is another topic in your life you'd like to improve on, listening to others and professionals talk about it consistently can help!
I downloaded topics on fear, having confidence, and getting over being "stuck." It helped tremendously.
Books on self-development, psychology, health, relationships - whatever you're working on, there's likely a book that can provide insight and guidance.

It's !

Invest in your peace. Sometimes paying for what supports your mental health is worth every penny.
For the longest time, this has pretty much been my only paid subscription app for several years. I started out meditating with Headspace a short time, then tried Calm.
I love the variety, the sleep stories, daily meditations, collections focused on specific needs, and so much more.
You can usually have a free trial of the Premium subscription for seven days, so try it out!
The sleep stories alone are worth it for many people - they're narrated by soothing voices and designed to help you drift off peacefully.
There are meditations for anxiety, stress, focus, gratitude, and just about anything else you might need in the moment. The daily meditation changes every day, so there's always something fresh.
If you're serious about making meditation a consistent practice, having a paid app like Calm can be the accountability and variety you need.

A bit pricey for the year, but it has wonderful features if you're really looking to change your diet and way of healthful eating.
Scanning barcodes instead of entering manually saves time, being able to see what foods you eat are highest in carbs, fat, etc. is helpful to make the changes you're looking for, and TONS of other features that aren't available in the free version.
If you're able to splurge, go for it!

Premium allows you to track specific nutrients more easily, set different macronutrient goals for different days (like if you're carb cycling), and get more detailed reports on your eating patterns.

If you're serious about optimizing your nutrition and have specific health goals, the Premium version gives you the tools to really dial it in. The free version is still excellent, but if nutrition is a major focus for you right now, the upgrade can be worth the investment in your health.

Motivation doesn't always come naturally. Find your trick, make a deal with yourself, and show up for it.
💡
We want to do things, but actually finding the motivation to do them when we're feeling down can seem nearly impossible. Even when we're feeling good, motivation can be difficult too.
😴
How do you make yourself do something when the time comes and you're not feeling it? Find a trick.
😀
A few that I'm currently using:
- When it comes to exercise, sign up for a class that if you don't show up, they charge you.
-Make a workout date with a friend that you don't want to flake on and let them down.
- When you think you may want to do something "later," give yourself an exact time. Maybe it's in 30 minutes, maybe it's a specific time. Make that deal with yourself that if you give yourself time now, you owe it to yourself to do it at the time you pick.

Sometimes you just literally need the motivation to get out of bed.
You almost feel sick at the thought, or maybe you do actually feel sick, and your bed is a warm cocoon comforting you away from what you dread.
What I've found is that if I do end up getting out of bed and start my day within 30-60 minutes, I actually feel fine. So what I've been telling myself as my "trick" is that my body is lying to me, and I don't really feel that way - it's just trying to keep me stuck in bed.

If this "trick" negatively impacts you and your mind when following your intuition or other things you're trying to internally work on, then feel free to ignore it. But if you find it a positive tool, try it out.
😊
