In a recent episode of CNN's podcast "Chasing Life" about autistic children growing into teens and adults, Dr. Sanjay Gupta highlighted Catalight's RUBI parent training program as a resource for families navigating that transition. The mention came during a discussion about how support needs evolve over time and the importance of equipping caregivers with practical tools and strategies.

We're excited for Karen Bearss' continued work and expansion of RUBI and to be involved in the changing national conversation about autism and supports.

Wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at Catalight – for the individuals and families we support and for the employees carrying out that mission every day.

Few people have done more to help architect that vision than Catalight Chief People and Wellbeing Officer Tara Kousha, who earlier this month was named Innovator of the Year at Lyra Health’s 2026 Workforce Mental Health Awards at their Breakthrough conference.

Tara’s work goes beyond surface-level conversations about burnout. She has helped uncover and address the systemic drivers of workforce stress and distress – building strategies, supports and cultures that prioritize psychological safety, sustainability and human-centered leadership.

From pioneering new approaches to manager coaching to helping shape a healthier, more supportive workplace culture, Tara continues to engineer what employee wellbeing can and should look like.

Congratulations, Tara, on this well-deserved recognition and thank you for continuing to lead with empathy, insight and innovation!

The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, in partnership with Molina Healthcare of Washington, is expanding access to autism services in rural and underserved communities through a $25,000 grant to Catalight. The grant will support the Research Unit on Behavioral Intervention (RUBI) Parent Training Program, a caregiver-mediated program for children with Autism ages three to 14.

As many as 50% of youth with autism spectrum disorder have emotional and behavioral challenges. Rural areas of Washington State have significantly less access to support systems, making accessible, evidence-based training for families critical.

At Molina Healthcare, we’re proud to stand with the autism community and are committed to fostering a more inclusive society.

🎉THE WHAT'S UP WITH CATALIGHT! PODCAST IS BACK! 🎉

In traditional BCBA training, behavior analysts are often taught to think about people as “organisms." In fact, the word "family" is not once mentioned in the board's extensive guide to foundational knowledge. It's clinical, scientific and not in any way geared toward any therapeutic interaction.

But people are more than that.

They’re parents trying to hold everything together, caregivers navigating exhaustion and children with their own wants, needs and ways of experiencing the world.

In our latest episode out now, host Lindsey Sneed, Ph.D., BCBA-D talks with professor and researcher Tracy Raulston, PhD, BCBA-D on why family-centered care is such a new concept to the autism industry and what people can do to help it grow.
