Autism is not one-size-fits-all and conversations around it shouldn’t be one-dimensional.

Day 3 of brought thoughtful discussion around the evolving understanding of autism as Easterseals Northern California’s Kalina Hatzell joined Catalight’s Doreen Samelson EdD, MSCP (she/her), and Ben Pfingston for a panel on “Understanding the Complexities of Autism Spectrum and Related Constructs: Implications for Behavior Analysts.”

Nuanced conversations like these are vital to building more informed, compassionate and effective support systems for autistic individuals and their families and we're looking forward to more as the conference closes out tomorrow.

Clinical Manager Janessa Canilao took the stage at day one of the annual ABAI convention for “Empowering Families Through Everyday Applied Behavior Analysis: A Workshop on Parent-Mediated Interventions Implementation" a little earlier today.

She was joined by fellow Easterseals Northern California presenter Kalina Hatzell, vice president of programs, in the session hosted by Vice President of Clinical Excellence Lindsey Sneed.

With happening so close to home in San Francisco this year, we’re excited for our teams' opportunity to share ideas, research and real-world experiences together throughout the conference.

The annual ABAI conference is coming to our hometown of San Francisco this weekend and we're going to be there in a big way!

From workshops and symposia to panel discussions, Catalight and Easterseals Northern California will be very well-represented across the convention by clinicians, researchers and leaders who are shaping conversations around parent-mediated intervention, treatment hours, neuroaffirming care and access to high-quality autism services.
