Infertility is more common than many people think, at least in part because people don’t talk about it publicly. But the nurses we work with know very well.

National Infertility Awareness Week is intended to do just that: raise awareness by encouraging these conversations and reducing the stigma around discussing infertility. VFP Pharmacy Group stands with the black community, our patients, colleagues and partners, and is committed to doing our part to make a difference. We are passionate about creating a company that treats everyone equally and with dignity, both through the service we provide our customers and the culture we create at work for our staff.

Historically, the black community has been under-served in the fertility world, even though studies have shown that black women may be almost twice as likely to experience infertility as white women.

There are organizations out there that are trying to change that, and we are happy to support this effort by raising awareness and making a donation to the Cade Foundation, a black-owned organization that provides information on infertility, support, and financial assistance to families in need.

Although there is no easy solution, we feel it is important for us to play our part and make a difference. Our actions won’t stop here, and we are committed to continuing the dialogue and listening and learning from our staff and the community.
