Memorial Day is especially close to Aegis Critical Readiness Group. Our very own Chief of Operations, Michael Levine, has spent many years working with his family to search for his great uncle, Cpl Robert Hopke Jr who was killed in action during the Korean War.
Aegis is a veteran owned and operated business who honors the brave men and women that gave their lives in service to the United States of America.
Today, we especially remember Corporal Robert Hopke Jr., U.S. Army, 1st Cavalry Division, who was killed in action during the Korean War and remains Missing in Action to this day.
At just 15 years old, Robert enlisted using his older brother Theodore “Teddy” Hopke’s identity so he could serve his country. Around his 16th birthday, he disappeared during the Battle of Unsan on November 1, 1950.
When Teddy — a WWII 6th Ranger veteran — returned home and learned his brother was missing, he dedicated his life to finding him and bringing him home.
That mission continues today.
At Aegis, we believe readiness is more than preparation — it is commitment, loyalty, accountability, and never leaving our people behind.
This Memorial Day, we honor the fallen, support the families still waiting for answers, and recommit ourselves to ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.
We will not stop until our fallen are returned home.
