Scar tissue is not one thing
This is important for your work.
Research distinguishes among:
Normal/normotrophic scars
Generally flat and relatively pliable.
Atrophic scars
Loss or thinning of tissue.
Hypertrophic scars
Excessive scar formation that remains within the original wound boundaries.
Keloids
Scar proliferation extending beyond the original wound.
Contracture scars
Scar tissue that shortens and restricts movement.
Adhesions
Abnormal connections between tissue planes.
A person can have:
skin scar → subcutaneous restriction → fascial restriction → altered glide → muscle restriction → altered movement
without the clinically important problem being visible at the surface.

Hello Everyone,

I’ll be taking a sabbatical from the business side of teaching and, as a result, will not be scheduling or organizing courses for 2027.
That said, I am not stepping away from teaching! I will continue to offer private instruction for those who would like to work with me individually.

I’m also happy to accommodate groups who would like to organize their own training. The minimum is 4 participants for instruction at my office, or 20 participants if you would like me to travel outside of New York.

While I'm taking a break from the business side of seminars, I’m still available to teach, share my knowledge, and work with practitioners who want to expand their skills.
