🎉 Celebrating 4 Years with Gateway! 🌊💙

Today, we’re celebrating our Speech-Language Pathologist, Kylee Y. and four incredible years as part of the Gateway team!

When we asked Kylee about some of her favorite memories over the years, she shared Wicked Waves 2024 along with the BCBA/SLP luncheons and collaboration sessions. 🌊

Kylee also reflected on the growth that has come with her time at Gateway. Making the transition from a school-based SLP to an ABA center-based SLP was a big leap, and she is proud of making that transition, becoming an advocate for AAC use for toddlers with ASD, and now supervising two SLPAs!

We’re so grateful for everything Kylee has brought to Gateway over the past four years—from her collaboration and advocacy to the growth of our speech services—and we can’t wait to see what the years ahead bring. 💙

🎉 Celebrating 2 Years with Gateway! 🌊💙

Today, we’re celebrating our Director of Training & Development and RBT, Liz, and two incredible years as part of the Gateway team!

When we asked Liz about one of her favorite Gateway memories, she took it back to her very first summer with us and our staff outing to Wicked Waves! She remembers being nervous as a new member of the team, but says everyone welcomed her with open arms and made it such a fun and memorable day. 🌊

Over the past two years, Liz has continued to grow both as an RBT and in her role as a director. She shared that she has learned to embrace feedback from her coworkers, loves learning new things every day, and is always striving to be the best she can be for our kiddos. 💙

Her favorite part of being on the Gateway team is the way everyone works together and supports one another each day—or, as Liz puts it, “Teamwork makes the dream work!” 🙌

We’re so grateful for everything Liz has contributed over the past two years and can’t wait to see what the years ahead bring!

Today, we’re celebrating our RBT, Dakota and her first incredible year as part of the Gateway team!

When we asked Dakota about her time at Gateway, she shared some of her favorite memories—from having fun with the team during Secret Santa to bringing clients to the library for music and storytime events. 📚🎶

Over the past year, Dakota is especially proud of finding new ways to make learning fun for the kids and approaching every session with a positive mindset. Her favorite part of being at Gateway? Being part of the journey for our clients and their families. 💙

⭐ Employee Spotlight: Ana ⭐

Meet Ana, our Operations Coordinator! Over the past 4.5 years, Ana has grown alongside Gateway, moving from an RBT to HR Assistant and now into her role as Operations Coordinator. Through each position, she has brought kindness, dedication, and a willingness to jump in and help wherever she’s needed.

Her work behind the scenes helps keep so many pieces of Gateway moving, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the ways she continues to support our staff, clients, and Gateway community. 💙

World Drowning Prevention Day

Water safety is important for everyone, but it can be especially critical for individuals with autism. Research has shown that wandering and attraction to water can increase the risk of drowning, making awareness and prevention essential.

At Gateway, safety is one of our core values. We encourage families to create layers of protection by:
💙 Maintaining active supervision around water
💙 Teaching water safety and swimming skills when appropriate
💙 Using locks, alarms, or barriers around pools
💙 Having an emergency plan in place
💙 Talking with caregivers and community members about wandering prevention

A safe summer starts with awareness, preparation, and support.
