This is originally posted in the Crawford County discussion page but I'm cross-posting it here so it can be shared to anyone affected including Houston County where they're building a water tank for the data centers.
If you live in Georgia — especially in Crawford, Jones, Monroe, Bartow, Clayton, Troup, Fayette, or ANY county where a data center has shown up or is being talked about — this post is for you, your family, your property, and your water.
I have drafted a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against county commissioners across the State of Georgia who are approving data centers — massive industrial facilities that consume hundreds of millions of gallons of water, strain entire power grids, generate constant industrial noise, and permanently destroy the character of rural and residential communities — WITHOUT giving citizens a proper voice, a proper vote, or a proper hearing.
This is not a political post. This is not left versus right. This is not a party issue. This is about YOUR government officials meeting IN SECRET with billion-dollar corporations BEFORE you were ever told anything was happening. This is about YOUR property values. YOUR water supply. YOUR community. YOUR children's environment. And YOUR constitutional right — guaranteed by the First, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States — to be heard before your government makes a decision that changes your life forever.
IT IS HAPPENING IN CRAWFORD COUNTY RIGHT NOW.
Ctizens in Crawford County, Georgia discovered — not because officials told them, but because they filed Open Records requests themselves — that the County Commission Chair, County Manager, and Planning Administrator were already in private meetings with a company called Beltline Energy back in October 2024. A company that wants to build a data center drawing 200 to 300 megawatts of power right here in Middle Georgia.Nobody was told. Not one resident. Not one property owner. Not one voter. Then in January 2026 the commissioners passed a moratorium — a pause — on data centers. Which sounds good. Until you realize the secret meetings had already happened. The moratorium didn't undo those meetings. It didn't give back the voice that was taken.
And right now Planning and Zoning is holding work sessions to write a Data Center Ordinance — and the question is whether that ordinance will truly protect citizens or just make it easier to approve the next one.And then there is the Boy Scout Road property. Land that has water reserves running through it. Land that was held by the Boy Scouts of America — a public benefit organization — for the community. Land that was quietly sold, that triggered a development covenant, that Byron tried to annex, and that Crawford County fought over — while citizens found out about all of it after the fact.
That land has water on it that belongs to the people. Not to any corporation. Not to any developer. Not to any commissioner who made a backroom deal. The water, the land, the resources — they belong to the people who have lived beside them, drank from them, farmed beside them, and raised their children near them for generations.
🔴 WHAT THE LAWSUIT SAYS
This lawsuit is built on the full weight of the United States Constitution. Not one amendment. Not a technicality. The full link will be in the comments and if it isn't someone please remind me.
✅ FIRST AMENDMENT — Your right to petition your government and be heard BEFORE they make decisions affecting your community. They silenced you. That is a constitutional violation.
✅ FOURTH AMENDMENT — Your right to be free from unreasonable government intrusion into your property and your life. Approving industrial infrastructure next to your home without your consent and without lawful process is an intrusion.
✅ FIFTH AMENDMENT — No government can take your property — including your property value, your water, your right to use your land as you always have — without just compensation. And no government can deprive you of your rights without due process. These are INALIENABLE rights. They were not given to you by government. Government cannot take them.
✅ ARTICLE I SECTION 10 — The Constitution forbids government from impairing the obligation of contracts. Your relationship with your government is a contract — the social compact. When they sell your government to a corporation, they broke that contract with you.✅ ARTICLE I SECTION 9 — The Emoluments Clause. Government officials cannot receive payments, gifts, or benefits from private interests in exchange for exercising their public power. If any commissioner received anything of value from a data center company — money, contributions, anything — that is a constitutional violation and a federal felony.✅ ARTICLE IV SECTION 4 — Every state is guaranteed a republican form of government. That means a government that answers to the people. Not to whoever paid for the vote.✅ CIVIL RICO — When this pattern crosses multiple counties, involves the same corporate players, and involves payments to officials, it is not just corruption. It is a criminal enterprise. And under federal RICO law, every victim is entitled to THREE TIMES their actual damages.✅ PUBLIC TRUST DOCTRINE — The water and natural resources on properties like the Boy Scout Road land belong to the people under the public trust doctrine. One of the specific things this lawsuit asks for is for that land to be returned to the people — held in trust for the community — not handed to a corporation that wants to drain its water to cool computer servers.🔴 WHO CAN JOINIf you are a Georgia citizen — a property owner, a renter, a voter, a taxpayer, a farmer, a parent, a business owner — and your county has approved, is considering, or has secretly negotiated a data center deal without giving you a real voice, YOU ARE ALREADY PART OF THIS CLASS.Under federal class action rules, once this case is certified by the court, every qualifying Georgia citizen is protected by this lawsuit automatically. You do not have to hire a lawyer. You do not have to file your own case. You do not have to pay anything to be included. But right now, before it is filed, I am building the class. I am gathering declarations from citizens across Georgia who want to be named — who want to stand up and say: I am here, I was denied my rights, and I am not accepting it.The more people who sign on before we file, the stronger this case is from day one.🔴 HOW TO JOINIt is simple.📧 Send an email to: [email protected] in the subject line: DATA CENTER CLASS ACTIONIn the body, include:Your nameYour countyWhether you are a property owner, renter, voter, or taxpayerOne sentence about how data center development has affected or concerned youThat is your electronic declaration of interest. It counts. It matters. It puts your name on the right side of history. If you want to print and sign a formal one-page declaration and mail it, email us and we will send you the form.🔴 THE LAND IDEA — FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO GO FURTHERSome of you are going to read about the Boy Scout Road property and feel exactly what I felt when I learned about it. That land has water on it. That water is the people's. And the idea that a billion-dollar corporation can come in, buy that land in a private deal while commissioners are secretly taking meetings, and then drain that water to cool computer servers while the people who live there watch their wells go dry — that is not something I am willing to accept.I am organizing a separate but connected effort to assert the people's collective interest in that land and its water resources — through the public trust doctrine, through a constructive trust claim, and through a prayer for relief asking the court to return that land to the people. If you want to be part of THAT effort specifically — if you want to be part of the group that says this land belongs to the community and we are putting the whole force of the people behind that claim — email the same address and put in the subject line:PEOPLES LAND TRUSTWe are building something real here. Not a petition that gets ignored. Not a comment at a meeting that gets thanked and disregarded. A federal lawsuit with constitutional teeth, a class of thousands of citizens, and a prayer for relief that asks a federal court to give the land back to the people it belongs to.🔴 WHO AM II am a minister. I speak from a place of love for this community and this state and this nation.I am a citizen exercising my lawful right under the Constitution to be counsel for myself and my neighbors.I am a man who has known his rights for decades, watched them be violated for decades, assumed the system would eventually correct itself, and finally accepted that the system corrects itself only when the people correct it.I am fed up.
