At Bloom & Thrive, our mission is to empower families with the tools, clarity, and support they need at every stage of their developmental journey. We are thrilled to share that our Owner and Clinical Director recently completed rigorous certification through Vanderbilt University to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2)!

Because the road to obtaining an autism diagnosis can often feel overwhelming and filled with long waiting lists, we want to share how offering the ADOS-2 at our clinic helps streamline this process for your family.

What is the ADOS-2?

The ADOS-2 is widely recognized as the "gold standard" assessment tool for observing social communication, interaction, and behavioral patterns. It uses structured, play-based activities and conversations tailored to an individual’s age and language level to gather objective data.

How We Collaborate with the Medical Community
A comprehensive evaluation requires a team approach. To ensure the highest level of professional and ethical practice, here is how we utilize this tool to benefit your family:
👉Bridging the Gap:Waitlists for developmental specialists can sometimes take months or even a year. By having our certified Clinical Director administer the ADOS-2 at Bloom & Thrive, we help families gather vital data early, reducing overall waiting times.
👉Providing a Comprehensive Report: Following the assessment, we provide families with a detailed, standardized behavioral report.
👉The Final Step: While the ADOS-2 is an essential diagnostic piece, a formal medical diagnosis must be finalized by a licensed medical practitioner (such as a Clinical Psychologist, Developmental Pediatrician, or Child Psychiatrist). Families can hand our comprehensive report directly to their physician, providing them with the exact objective observational data they need to make an official diagnosis.
