International Volunteer Call – Spanish Speaking Researchers

πŸ” Comparative Welfare Assessment of Laying Hens: In-Cage Versus On-Floor Housing Systems in Argentina, Jordan, and Kenya

Food Safety & Security – One Health Social Sciences (OHSS) is pleased to announce an international collaborative research initiative focused on evaluating animal welfare in egg production systems across multiple countries.

Led by Professor Marcela Martin, this project will assess physiological, behavioral, health, and production indicators of laying hens raised in conventional cage systems and on-floor systems.

πŸ“ The pilot study will begin in CΓ³rdoba, Argentina, with standardized protocols to support future implementation in Jordan and Kenya.

We are currently seeking dedicated volunteers who:

βœ… Hold a postgraduate or Master’s degree

βœ… Have a background in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Health, Animal Science, or related fields

βœ… Are Spanish speakers

βœ… Have experience in scientific research and academic writing

βœ… Are 25 years of age or older
