Meow Wolf Santa Fe was EVERYTHING!! (And the main event of our fam’s first vacay in 10 months—like I’ve said, it was a looooong winter!!!)

A year ago we visited our first Meow Wolf, Denver’s Meow Wolf Denver — and instantly fell in love with these wacky, incredible, immersive, interactive art installations. Highlights: a multistory “jellyfish forest” and a massive Magnatile-like cathedral where you can play the organ by spinning a lucite steering wheel.

So when I told hubs I was thinking we should all go to Santa Fe and yes, it’s where Meow Wolf was founded, he was ALLLLL in.

Lucky us to land in the “House of Eternal Returns” during a special event, Phenomenomaly, which layers onto the exhibit a bunch of awesome, wacky actors, musicians and dancers for a participatory scavenger hunt culminating in performances and a glow-lit “worm spawn” parade.

It was INSANE—and lit up just about every one of my sensors for joy and spontaneity and wonder and play and family in-the-moment connection.

You may be asking what this has to do with yoga and meditation…and the answer is everything!!!!

✨ We must fill our cups in order to sustain ourselves AND keep showing up for and sharing with others.

✨ Doing so requires listening to yourself deeply and figuring out what really lights you up and refuels you.

✨ Resetting and relaxing to balance out our intensely high-speed lives is *critical* and the core of my personal practice and what I most frequently offer others.

AND ALSO! Joy and light and spark and sparkle are critical, too! The yin and yang that help us remember our WHOLE selves. Who we are beneath the busyness and stress.

I hope this summer YOU find some space for whimsy and joy and sparkle—however that might look for you!!

A sweet little sound bath for you in celebration of this gorgeous, bright June energy streaming in!

A small taste of my sound bath savasana that concluded yesterday’s Slow Flow & Sound .yoga.fallschurch — my 1st time playing live instruments accompanied by another artist’s recorded track.

I’m not sure why I’ve never tried this layering before—after all, my first official sound bath, with the transcendent Yuval Samburski, wove in live and recorded sounds and songs and blasted me off to another planet (and career path!) entirely.

Perhaps this hauntingly beautiful song itself inspired me… “Savasana Bliss” by Seeking OM.

The mic here picks up the Indian bells a bit more harshly than they chime in-person. But hopefully when you close your eyes and soften and settle in, you get some of the idea and reset!

The thing I love most about collage is the “imperfectionism” practice. This type of work RELIES on creating a lot of “garbage.” On purpose.

We spend time haphazardly putting paint on papers no one wants anymore. Trying different techniques without attaching to the outcome. Often, we create something cool on purpose but the paper we’re rolling the extra paint onto to clean off the brush or brayer ends up being the coolest raw material.

Cast off scraps of paper become central inspiration and the centerpieces of a beautiful, unexpected idea.

My soul needs this tangible reminder that beauty grows from “mess” and spontaneity. That we don’t know—or have to know—how it’s all going to work or turn out.

And this reminder that usually it does.

Also that when it doesn’t, that’s ok too. We benefit from the journey, the practice, the learning that comes along the way.

Anyone else a recovering perfectionist? Anyone else find art helpful in working through it?

And hugest thanks to ALL who entered and cheered me on at this milestone and any and everywhere along the way these past 3 1/2 years. This job and lifestyle aren’t always easy, but helping others discover tools that help them feel and live better is truly a calling and I can’t imagine doing anything else.

These practices have changed my life and getting to share them and witness their positive impact out in the world is truly a gift!!

I’m eagerly awaiting the slow, boring part of 2026…how about YOU?!?!

In the meantime, life keeps lifing. We’re OK. Holding it together. Joy and good and growth have not been strangers. And ALSO! It’s been a LOT. Downright floody at times.

As a social person and yoga/meditation teacher, I talk to MANY people and know that many of us are in a similar season.

I don’t have all the answers. But I do the work I now do because I’ve found some things that help me set down some of the weight and find my footing again amidst or after floods—and don’t want others to have to struggle as hard as I did to find them and feel better. I’m still learning and experimenting. New challenges call for new tools and approaches (oof, HELLO sandwich generation!).

So in case it’s helpful to any of you, here are some things that have been helping me in this floody season of near constant change, busyness and new twists.

Framing ALL of this, I feel the need to share that I’m letting myself feel my emotions and showing up to face the hard when it comes. As one of my besties .pannucci always shares, “The only way out is through.”

AND I’m doing a lot to stay above water and still feel the sun on my face…from leaning heavily on friends and practice, to actively carving out spaces and time for joy and balance and reset and calm.

So this isn’t about ignoring or pretending…it’s about making sure I’m catching my breath from time to time. Finding and creating calm to help carry me through the rapids.

⁉️Are any of these tools go-to’s for you? Or maybe there’s a new one here that’s helpful to you? Or want to share another idea?!

💖 I’d love to hear!! Please comment and we’ll get a conversation going…

The more I practice, the more attuned I become to the power of one’s ripple…allllll those ripples around us. The way even something as small and simple as audible waves of soft, steady breath next to us can help us find our way back to ourselves and some of that peace that’s always inside of us.

If you’re feeling off-centered or overwhelmed, this is worth tuning into!

🌊 Who helps remind you of YOUR center?
🌊 Who, in the words of Stephen Cope, “lends you their center” when you need it?

(And who pulls you out of it?)

✨🧘🏽‍♀️First time leading an EIGHT-BLANKET PRACTICE!!! And to be fully accurate, first time leading an EIGHT-BLANKET, FOUR-BLOCK, TWO-BOLSTER, TWO-WEIGHTED-EYE-PILLOW, ONE CHAIR, ONE-STRAP PRACTICE!

Whew!!!

I 💖💖💖ed seeing students take ideas about how they might find more comfort in our Restorative Yoga poses and riff, innovate and discover. Very different vibe and practice than our typical Thursday night larger group class!

Soooo much deep self-listening and leaning into more ease and softening.

What I want to share from our exploration in this “Restorative Yoga Playground” is:

💖 Finding MORE comfort and ease in the body REALLY DOES help the brain and nervous system find more comfort and ease.

💖 What works for me and what I love may NOT be what’s best for YOUR body, pose or prop or practice-wise. It’s SOOO important to listen to yourself and follow the cues you’re receiving about where to lean in, turn away, turn over, and so on.

💖 My yoga isn’t about mastering a shape or forcing yourself. As I’ve learned yoga in more recent years (and wish I’d encountered about 20 years earlier when I first landed in vinyasa and ashtanga classes!), the REAL practice is partnering with YOUR BODY, mind and spirit and letting them guide you where they want to guide you today. That’s going to be different this year, this day, this hour. The practice is to compassionately partner with, listen to and respect the body, mind and spirit that’s with us right now. Even and especially if it’s not what we’re used to.

💖 We are deserving of comfort, rest and restoration. It took me a long time to give myself permission to find these—and even know how desperately I needed them. Listen to what helps you rediscover them, then LEAN IN. MORE!

Really loved our beautiful group .yoga.fallschurch and the individual paths we found and made today in our Playground. Grateful to get to hold spaces like this.

Weren’t able to make it today but want to try this some other time with me? Let me know and we can do it again!
