We are proud to celebrate Iowa’s own Mike Anderson, DNP, CRNA, ARNP, on his well-deserved recognition at the AANA Annual Congress this past week in Boston, MA as a Fellow of the AANA (FAANA).

The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (FAANA) designation is a prestigious career achievement that recognizes outstanding CRNAs for their leadership, clinical practice, education, research, and advocacy.

Mike’s dedication to advancing the nurse anesthesia profession and his commitment to leadership and service exemplify the qualities represented by this distinguished honor.

We are ALSO thrilled to recognize Mike in his new role as Chair of the AANA Foundation! Through this leadership, he will continue to make a meaningful impact on education, research, innovation, and the future of nurse anesthesia.

IANA is proud and honored to announce our nomination of our very own, Randy Cornelius, DNP, MSN, CRNA, for the 2027 AANA Vice President position.

Randy brings more than 36 years of distinguished U.S. military service and 17 years of experience as a clinical anesthesia provider. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, sound decision-making, and a deep commitment to serving others — qualities that make him an outstanding candidate for AANA Vice President.

In addition to his clinical and military experience, Randy has been actively involved with both IANA and AANA throughout his anesthesia career. His dedication and involvement have allowed him to build meaningful relationships and connections that will strengthen his ability to advocate for CRNAs and our profession at the national level.
