Please join us in welcoming Dr. Juan A. Reyes as Interim Chief Medical Officer at Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center.

A dedicated physician leader, educator and advocate, Dr. Reyes brings more than two decades of experience advancing patient care, medical education and healthcare innovation. Since joining the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2000, he has served in numerous leadership roles, including Chief of Hospital Medicine since 2018, helping lead the clinical response during the COVID-19 pandemic and expanding hospitalist services to communities in Wards 7 and 8.

"I am eager to be part of the Cedar Hill community," said Dr. Reyes. "I'm interested in advancing the organizational mission of health equity, promoting excellence in patient care and fostering a collaborative culture that values and respects the contributions of every member of the healthcare team."

Twenty-five years ago, our nation experienced a tragedy that forever changed countless lives.

As a hospital serving the greater Washington, D.C., community, we join our neighbors in remembering those lost on September 11, including the victims at the Pentagon, just miles from where we live and work. We also honor the extraordinary bravery of first responders, healthcare professionals, military personnel and everyday citizens who answered the call in a time of crisis.

Their courage, resilience and commitment to serving others continue to inspire our mission of caring for patients and supporting our community every day.

Today, we remember the lives lost, reflect on the strength that united our nation and pay tribute to the heroes whose legacy endures.

We remember. We honor. We never forget.

Recently, Dr. Raymond Tu, Chairman of the Board of the Medical Society of the District of Columbia and Vice Chairman of Community Radiology with Capital Medical Group, met with leaders from the Department of Health Care Finance-District of Columbia and the American College of Radiology.

The group discussed the importance of lung cancer screenings and explored opportunities for collaboration to help improve access, awareness and patient outcomes throughout the community.

Thank you to all who are working together to advance early detection initiatives and strengthen healthcare partnerships across the region.

When healthcare teams learn together, patients benefit.

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center recently partnered with GW Hospital for a Preceptor Workshop, where Respiratory Therapists and Registered Nurses came together to strengthen their skills in mentoring, coaching, leadership and evaluation. By investing in professional development and knowledge-sharing, these dedicated caregivers are better equipped to support new hires and help ensure the highest level of patient care.
