October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a reminder to make your breast health a priority.

Mammograms can help detect breast cancer early, sometimes before symptoms appear. If you're due for a screening, take a moment to schedule your mammogram and talk with your healthcare provider about what's right for you. A simple appointment can be an important step in taking care of yourself.

Share this reminder with a woman in your life who may need it.

Join us for a Birth Center Tour at our Family Health and Birth Center on Wednesday, October 7 from 6-7PM.

You’ll have a chance to explore the space, connect with our midwifery team and learn more about what you can expect when choosing Community of Hope for your care and birth experience.

Nearly 20 years ago, Paula and her six children found themselves without a place to call home after the loss of her mother. Living in a shelter, Paula knew she needed support, not only to find housing, but to rebuild stability for herself and her family.

Through Community of Hope’s Permanent Supportive Housing program, Paula found a home and connected with the counseling, treatment, life-skills support, and other resources that helped her move forward.

Today, Paula lives in a three-story townhouse in Northeast DC. Her children are grown, and she still remembers the feeling of walking through her first home and thanking God for how far she had come.
Her story is a reminder that home can mean much more than four walls.
