Today, May 19th, we recognize National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.
This day serves as an important reminder that HIV impacts every community, and that meaningful prevention, education, testing, treatment access, and culturally responsive care matter deeply in advancing health equity.
Asian, Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian, and Indigenous communities continue to face barriers that can include stigma, discrimination, language access challenges, underrepresentation in public health outreach, and gaps in culturally competent healthcare services. Visibility and community engagement remain essential.
We honor the advocates, healthcare workers, educators, organizations, and people living with HIV who continue pushing forward conversations around prevention, dignity, equity, and care access.
