UPDATED TIME - Join us for another community growing experience at the farm!! Dreaming Out Loud’s Community Garlic Planting Day is an in-person, hands-on workshop for local community members - from seasoned growers to folks newly interested in farming.

Join DOL at The Farm at Kelly Miller on Wednesday, 10/28 (now from 9AM-1PM) to support our farm team, have fun & meet new people, all while learning how to grow and harvest. Refreshments and giveaways will be available.

THIS SATURDAY - It’s official! Dreaming Out Loud will be sponsoring the Anacostia Crab Feast across the street from Dreaming Out Loud Markets at 1234 Marion Barry Ave SE!

The event is free but crabs are a fee! With your complimentary ticket, enjoy the festival vib, explore the Soul Vibes Sunday LLC market, enjoy interactive games, and of course watch live music performances by TCB , THE CRANK + P3_Perf3ction and a lineup of special guest artists! Bring the kids to play Skee-Ball, jump in the Moonbounce, plus get creative with face painting and caricature artists.

And of course if you’d like to indulge, there’s amazing deals on All You Can Eat crabs and a host of sides from our kitchen… Get your tickets at the link!

THURSDAY 8.20 - Dreaming Out Loud’s DREAM Program celebrated our latest cohort with support from DC Central Kitchen at the Meet the Maker pitch competition!

The event was the culmination of 16 weeks of education, mentorship, business development & technical assistance through the program, which supports food and beverage entrepreneurs as they strengthen their brands and pursue opportunities for growth.

Held at the DC Central Kitchen Café at the Klein Center, the event featured participating Dreamers showcasing their businesses, products, and stories before a panel of judges representing finance, hospitality, economic development, entrepreneurship, and the local food industry. After a competitive round of pitches and judges’ deliberation, three entrepreneurs were selected as the top winners of the 2026 Perfect Pitch Competition:

First Place: Faidat Ayobami, KUNAYA - Tiger Nut Milk
Prize: $15,000

Second Place: Oluwatobi Osobukola-Abubu, Fritters and Roast
Prize: $7,500

Third Place: Mustafa Mannan, Trini Pepper Sauce
Prize: $4,500

Dreaming Out Loud congratulates all of the 2026 Dreamers for their dedication, creativity, and commitment to building businesses that contribute to a stronger and more equitable local food economy. We look forward to continued development of this ecosystem!
