Our residents had an amazing weekend filled with adventure, animals, and some unforgettable memories!

We spent time at the Metamora County Days Hot Air Balloon Festival, where we enjoyed the excitement, beautiful balloons, and all the fun that comes with a community festival! 🎈✨

We also had a wonderful visit to Marty’s Place For Animals, where the residents got to spend time with some amazing animals and enjoy a little furry-filled fun! 🐴🐐🐾

It was a weekend full of smiles, laughter, new experiences, and quality time out in the community. We love creating opportunities for our residents to explore, participate, and make memories!

Here’s to more adventures ahead!

We had the coolest activity with the coolest person last week! 🎨⭐️

It pays to know AMAZING people like Mrs. Rita! She came by for a visit and brought so much food, fun, activities, creativity, and SO many smiles! ❤️ She also brought her two amazing assistants, Colin and Kate!

Mrs. Rita is an art teacher, but her gifts extend far beyond the classroom. She generously spent time with our residents, sharing her love of art and creating a fun, hands-on experience right here at the house.

The residents got to make their very own paper stars using lunch bags, glue, and LOTS of creativity! ⭐️✨ It was so much fun watching everyone put their own spin on their stars and seeing their personalities shine through their creations.

We are so grateful for people like Mrs. Rita who take the time to bring their talents, kindness, and joy to our residents. Experiences like this are about so much more than making a craft, they create opportunities for connection, learning, creativity, and making memories together. 💕🎨

Thank you, Mrs. Rita, for spending the day with us and making it so special! We can’t wait to see what we create together next! ⭐️❤️

We need your help. ❤️

CapABLE Community Living is asking our community to consider making a donation to help us cover a series of unexpected home repairs that have placed a significant financial strain on our nonprofit.

Our home is exactly that—a home. It’s where adults with disabilities build friendships, celebrate milestones, and live with dignity, independence, and purpose. Keeping it safe and comfortable is one of our greatest responsibilities.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve faced nearly $9,000 in unexpected basement repair costs. Now, we’ve also learned that our air conditioner and hot water tank need to be replaced, adding approximately another $8,500 in expenses.

While these repairs are essential, they were never part of our budget. As a small nonprofit, unexpected costs like these directly impact the resources we can dedicate to enriching the lives of our residents.

If you’re in a position to help, we would be deeply grateful for a donation of any amount. Whether it’s $10, $25, $100, or simply sharing this post, every act of kindness helps us continue providing a safe, welcoming home for the people we are honored to serve.

Your generosity doesn’t just repair a house—it helps protect a home where our residents can continue to thrive.

If you would like to make a donation, we’ll include our Venmo and PayPal donation links in the comments below. Please share this post so we can get as many views as possible.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for supporting CapABLE Community Living. We truly couldn’t do this without our community. ❤️

We would like to give a huge shoutout to N.W. Kaltz and Sons Farm for their incredible generosity and kindness!

This weekend, some of our residents had the wonderful opportunity to visit the farm and help select the fruits and vegetables that will be planted in our new garden spaces. Our residents shared ideas, learned about gardening, spent time with the farm's friendly dog, and even enjoyed a ride around the property!

What made the day even more special was the generosity shown by N.W. Kaltz and Sons Farm. At the end of our visit, they donated all of the plants and produce we selected for our gardens. Their selfless gift will provide our residents with a meaningful activity, a sense of pride, and the joy of watching something they helped choose grow and flourish.

Acts of kindness like this make a lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful for their support of our community.

If you're looking for fresh, high-quality produce and want to support a local business that truly cares about giving back, we highly encourage you to purchase from N.W. Kaltz and Sons Farm. They are not only passionate about what they grow, but also about making a difference in the lives of others.

Thank you, N.W. Kaltz and Sons Farm, for helping us plant the seeds for something special. We can't wait to enjoy the fruits (and vegetables!) of our labor!

Happy Fathers Day from CapABLE Community Living!

Fatherhood is more than providing…it's showing up, caring deeply, and being present in the everyday moments. Caretaking isn't always seen, but it's one of the greatest acts of love. Grateful for the fathers and father figures who lead with patience, compassion, and heart. 💙🩵

We are a small, family-owned AFC, and opening this home has been an adventure and a sacrifice for all of us, especially our children. But seeing this... this is full circle. This is our reason why.

Our children attended the residents' baseball game this week and brought some of their friends along. The opportunities and experiences we are able to provide for our children and now their friends, are truly priceless. Our children take so much pride in teaching their friends about our community.

Listening to them explain AFOs, mobility differences, and accommodations; watching them introduce their friends to the residents; showing and explaining the different ways our residents communicate; and sharing the joy of our little community—it was an incredibly proud moment for us.

We are so thankful to the families who trust us to care for and support their loved ones. Even more so, we are grateful that all of our families embrace and appreciate the involvement of our children. We have such a special dynamic at CCL.

As parents, there are moments that stop you in your tracks and remind you why every sacrifice has been worth it. Watching our children proudly share this community with their friends was one of those moments. They don't see limitations—they see friendships. They don't focus on differences—they celebrate people. They are growing up in a world where wheelchairs, communication devices, accommodations, and disabilities are not things to fear, question, or avoid. They are simply part of the beautiful diversity of humanity.

What a gift it is to raise children who lead with kindness, acceptance, and understanding. And what an even greater gift it is to watch them pass those values on to others. If we can help create a generation of children who see inclusion as normal, who welcome differences without hesitation, and who recognize the value and dignity in every person, then we know we are building something far bigger than a home, we are helping build a more compassionate world.

Thank you to our sweet friends Katey Paluzzi, Lindsey Abraham Renaud for having such wonderful children!
