โœจ Could your child benefit from ABA? ๐Ÿ’™

Families often wonder when ABA might be helpful. Some signs may include difficulty communicating wants and needs, challenging behaviors that interfere with daily life, trouble learning new skills or following directions, difficulty with transitions, social challenges, or needing frequent support with daily living skills.

ABA can help children build meaningful skills such as:
๐Ÿ’ฌ Communication
๐Ÿงฉ Social skills
๐ŸŒฑ Independence
๐Ÿง˜ Emotional regulation & coping
๐ŸŽฏ Learning and daily living skills
๐Ÿค Self-advocacy and functional skills

At SOAR Autism Center, we believe ABA should be individualized to each childโ€™s strengths, needs, communication style, and family goals. Every childโ€™s journey looks differentโ€”and our goal is to help each child build skills that improve their quality of life and help them SOAR. ๐Ÿ’™

One Team. Many Perspectives. ๐Ÿค

Every learner is more than a diagnosis, behavior, or data point. That's why collaboration is such an important part of quality ABA services.

๐Ÿ  Families provide invaluable insight into routines, preferences, strengths, priorities, and what works at home.

๐Ÿซ Teachers help us understand how a learner participates in the classroom, interacts with peers, and responds to academic and environmental demands.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ SLPs bring expertise in communication and language, helping the team support functional and meaningful communication.

๐Ÿ‘ OTs provide valuable perspectives related to functional skills, independence, motor development, and participation in daily activities.

This commitment to collaboration is one of the ways SOAR stands apart. We don't view other professionals as separate from the process; we view them as valuable members of the team.

Why? Because our goal isn't simply for a skill to be demonstrated during therapy. We want skills to be meaningful, functional, and carried over into the environments where our clients live, learn, play, and connect.

๐Ÿ“š Closed for Professional Development ๐Ÿ“š

We will be closed on Friday, September 4th, for a day of learning and growth. Our team is investing time in training to serve each client better!

This dedicated time will allow our team to participate in a specialized program called "Safety-Care", created by Quality Behavioral Solutions (QBS). "Safety Care" Training focuses on enhancing behavioral safety and crisis prevention. The training is designed to equip our staff with effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors, minimizing incidents, and reducing the need for restrictive interventions.

โœจ Could your child benefit from ABA? ๐Ÿ’™

ABA has evolved โ€” and that evolution matters. ๐Ÿ’™

For many years, traditional ABA practices often emphasized compliance, adult-led sessions, rigid structures, and goals based primarily on assessment results rather than the individual needs, preferences, and emotions of the learner.

Modern ABA takes a more client-centered approach. Todayโ€™s practices focus on:
โœจ Building communication and independence
โœจ Teaching self-advocacy and honoring individual voices
โœจ Learning in natural environments and meaningful situations
โœจ Creating goals that improve quality of life
โœจ Supporting emotional regulation and understanding each learner as a whole person

The goal of ABA is not simply to teach skills โ€” it is to support learners in becoming confident, independent, and empowered individuals.

๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿ“š School Readiness Is About More Than Academics!

When we think about preparing children for school, we often focus on letters, numbers, reading, and writingโ€”but there are so many other skills that help children participate, learn, and feel successful in the classroom. ๐Ÿ’™

โœจ Requesting for items โ€” helps children communicate their wants and needs appropriately and independently.

๐Ÿ‘‚ Following instructions โ€” helps children participate in classroom routines, activities, and learning opportunities.

โณ Waiting โ€” helps children navigate everyday situations like waiting for a turn, materials, or teacher attention.

๐Ÿ™‹ Asking for help โ€” gives children a way to communicate when they are unsure, struggling, or need support.

๐Ÿ‘€ Sitting & attending โ€” helps children engage with lessons, group activities, conversations, and classroom tasks.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Self-advocacy โ€” empowers children to communicate their needs, preferences, boundaries, and when they need a break or additional support.

At SOAR, we understand that school readiness is about more than academics. Our team works with clients to build these important skills in ways that are individualized to their needs and goals. ๐ŸŒŸ

Through ABA therapy, we can help children develop the communication, independence, social, and daily living skills they need to participate more successfully in school and beyond.

๐Ÿ’™ Our goal is to help every client build confidence, gain independence, and soar toward their potential.

Ready to help your child prepare for a successful school year? SOAR is here to help!
