We are encouraged to see the Recognizing the Role of Direct Support Professionals Act move forward with unanimous committee support. Direct Support Professionals play a vital role in helping people with disabilities live, work, and thrive in their communities, and they deserve greater recognition for the impact they make every day.

Let's keep the momentum going and continue advocating for the DSP workforce. Click the link below for an easy to use action tool.

The bipartisan Recognizing the Role of Direct Support Professionals Act urges the Office of Management and Budget to establish a Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) for direct support professionals (DSPs).

Today marks the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark civil rights law that helped break down barriers and expand opportunities for people with disabilities.

The ADA affirmed that people with disabilities have the right to participate fully in community life, pursue employment, access public spaces, and live with dignity and independence.

But rights alone are not enough.

Community-based services help turn the promise of the ADA into reality by providing the supports that enable people to live, work, and thrive in the communities they call home. As policymakers consider changes that could impact these services, it's important that we continue advocating for the resources that make inclusion possible.

This ADA Anniversary, we invite you to learn more about why protecting community-based services matters and how you can take action today.
