Let's Welcome Andrea Bullerman to the Wellness center!

Andrea Bullerman is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a private practitioner at New Day Wellness, providing mental health therapy for individuals, couples, and families. She specializes in couples therapy, using a systems approach to help bring awareness to patterns and unlock pathways for meaningful change and connectedness. Andrea employs a person-centered and strengths-based approach, complemented by additional treatment modalities such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and EMDR, and offers the option of faith-based counseling. Additional areas of experience include working with individuals with anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relational or family conflict, and blended families. Andrea's goal in therapy is to provide a holistic approach for growth while building capacity to face life's challenges, both individually and relationally.

Becoming a mental health therapist was a career transition for her, having been in the teaching profession at the secondary level as a Literacy Instructional Strategist. This experience in working both in the classroom and one-on-one with students, parents, and families helped her see the larger systemic impact on student academic success and how mental health can vastly affect student achievement. She originally sought to shift from the classroom to school-based counseling; however discovered how much she also enjoyed working with adults, families, and couples.

Her personal life experience and transitions have also helped her hold space and compassion for those working through the varied nuances of life's challenges. She has been providing therapy since 2020, starting at Mount Mercy Olson Clinic in Cedar Rapid and Covenant Family Solutions in Cedar Falls before opening her private practice here in Waterloo in the summer of 2024 to present.

Her and her husband keep busy with their six adult kids and Poppy, their sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. In their free time, they enjoy time with family and traveling!

Andrea is super excited to be joining the team at The Wellness Center!

✨ Please join us in welcoming Kristin Henry, PT, and Woven Health to the Wellness Center family this June! ✨

Kristin has been a Physical Therapist for 12 years and brings experience from a variety of patient care settings. She is passionate about providing well-rounded, patient-centered care and loves collaborating with other healthcare disciplines to help patients achieve their best outcomes.

Kristin specializes in a more hands-on, manual therapy approach, focusing on how the muscles and joints move together rather than simply prescribing exercises. She is also trained in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy and enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions — from head to toe and everything in between.

Her philosophy centers on treating the whole body, recognizing that symptoms like “shoulder pain” are often connected to many other factors throughout the body. This comprehensive approach is what inspired the name Woven Health — representing the weaving together of multiple aspects of care to support healing and wellness.

We are so excited to have Kristin and Woven Health as part of our team! Please help us give her a warm welcome!

Another successful change in metabolic health. 58year old female, prediabetic with insulin resistance, histamine intolerance and hormonal imbalance.
Sleep better, rashes improved, joint pains resolved, medications reduced, 40 pounds gone in 12 weeks.

This is what she says:
I said this was the hardest, easiest 40 lbs I've ever lost. This program is not for the weak. You must be strong in your mindset to make it work. I went into this with a spare none mindset. I needed to improve my health and wellbeing for myself and my family. Like I said, it was hard. No cookies, ice cream, diet pepsi or pizza. But along this journey, I've learned about healthy foods and created some really yummy meals. The Braggs liquid aminos and coconut aminos are a must. They help add flavor to flavorless foods. I downloaded an app on my phone to keep track of my daily water intake. The only negative in my eyes was my drops schedule. Because I take daily medications, I had to time the different drops so that they didn't interfere with my meds. I found that setting alarms on my phone made this much easier. All in all, the program, the app, the videos were very helpful. I can't say how many times I read the booklet or looked something up on the app. My transition has been amazing. I am so happy and feel like a million bucks.

LIFiNG™ Podcast Episode 14| Magnesium Matters

Magnesium is involved in over 300 biochemical reactions in the body—supporting sleep, muscle relaxation, mood, energy, and blood sugar regulation. Yet many people may not be getting enough.

But here’s where it gets confusing: not all magnesium supplements are the same.

In this episode of the LIFiNG™ Podcast, I break down the common types of magnesium—like glycinate, citrate, malate, and threonate—and when each one may be most helpful.

Small mineral.
Big impact.

Depression doesn't always look like staying in bed. Sometimes it looks like:

Getting everything done but feeling numb
Smiling in public and shutting down at home
Feeling exhausted even after resting
Losing interest in things you used to enjoy
Telling yourself you "shouldn't feel this way"

High-functioning depression is real. And mood isn't just about mindset. It can be influenced by inflammation, hormones, blood sugar, nutrient levels, and chronic stress.

You can be productive and still not feel well.

If you're "managing" but not thriving, that matters, and it's worth exploring why.

Lenten Journey with Jesus Day 17: Moving On
This Lenten Journey with Jesus is an opportunity for you to become more aware of what you've been stumbling on. Those weeds, thorns & rocks God has revealed to you and helped you move out of the way. Making room for the seed God wants to plant in the garden of your heart to grow & flourish.
How do you keep the momentum going without letting the garden of your heart become overrun again?
Without letting any past mistakes define who you are and or hold you back from moving forward?
How is God calling you to move forward in Love?
