Big news for naturopathic medicine in Maine 🌿
After years of advocacy, a proposal has been completed to modernize the naturopathic formulary , and now it needs public support to move forward.

The proposed rules would:
✔️ Update the list of medications NDs can prescribe
✔️ Allow IV nutrients and medications
✔️ Clarify that NDs can order advanced imaging (CT/MRI with contrast)

There will likely be opposition, so it’s important the board hears from patients and supporters.

🗓 Tuesday, Feb 11 at 9am
📍 Attend in person (Gardiner, ME) or via Zoom

Even a short comment makes a difference.

✅ NDs attend 4-year, accredited naturopathic medical schools with 4,100+ hours of classroom time and 1,200+ hours of supervised clinic shifts.

✅ NDs are trained to address the root cause of illness with natural therapeutics AND use conventional medicine when called for.

✅ NDs study the same biomedical sciences as MDs and have the option to focus on areas of medicine such as endocrinology, gastroenterology, oncology, psychology, and more.
