The Drew Swan Sibling Scholarship was created to honor the life and legacy of Andrew “Drew” Swan — a young man whose kindness, wisdom, and deep love for his sister left a lasting impact on everyone around him. 💙

As a passionate advocate for his sister Samantha and for ESP, Drew believed deeply in creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families to thrive. His legacy continues through this scholarship, supporting siblings of individuals with disabilities across the state of Georgia as they pursue higher education.

The Drew Swan Sibling Scholarship is a one-year, non-renewable $1,500 award given to a sibling of an individual with disabilities who is enrolled in a two-year or four-year nonprofit higher education institution in Georgia.

📚 2026 Applications Open: June 1–30, 2026
📍 Recipient Announced: August 2026

We are honored to continue celebrating Drew’s heart for others through this meaningful opportunity.

Over the past year, Carol has stepped in time and time again to strengthen ESP’s mission through creativity, vision, and an unwavering commitment to our organization. From supporting ESP as a contractor to now serving as our Interim Director of Marketing, she has continually filled gaps for our marketing team with grace, flexibility, and excellence.

Through Carol’s leadership, ESP’s stories have been shared in ways that beautifully capture the heart of our mission — highlighting the joy, belonging, and transformation experienced of individuals with disabilities and their families. Working across all of ESP’s sites and departments, Carol helps tell the many stories that make ESP so special and connects communities more deeply to our mission.

Carol, thank you for the countless ways you have supported ESP this past year. Your creativity, collaboration, and heart for our mission have made such a meaningful difference, and we are so grateful for you!

Marlie Sabourin’s story with ESP began long before she ever walked into camp. Growing up was challenging, and she often struggled to feel like she fully fit in. Those experiences shaped the way she connected with others and gave her a deep understanding of what it feels like to long for belonging and meaningful connection. 🤍

Everything changed when Marlie came across an Instagram story about ESP camp. Even reaching out felt intimidating at first, but eventually she took the leap and sent the email that would change her life. That one step led her to ESP, where she found meaningful friendships, real belonging, and a community that saw people for who they truly are.

The moment that impacted Marlie most was meeting Ryan at camp. Being his buddy changed the way she sees the world. Ryan found joy in the smallest moments—watching a wavy inflatable outside, laughing at simple things, slowing down enough to truly enjoy life. Through him, Marlie learned that joy does not have to come from extraordinary moments. Sometimes it is found in the everyday.

There was a time when Marlie was searching for belonging too. Through ESP, and through friendships like Ryan’s, she not only found belonging for herself, but also the opportunity to help create it for others.✨

Ryan did not just change Marlie’s experience at ESP—he changed the way she sees people, joy, and community forever.

For Samantha, ESP Summer Camp became so much more than just a week away—it became a turning point. 🧡

What began as something that felt scary quickly transformed into the best week of her life, thanks to the encouragement and care of her buddy, Brynn. Through that support, Samantha found a new sense of confidence and belief in herself.

The impact didn’t stop there—this week changed not only Samantha’s life, but her entire family’s as well.

The truth is, Samantha’s story is not just one story—it’s the story of so many ESP families. These weeks are filled with laughter, friendship, and joy, but they’re also filled with transformation. The kind that stays. The kind that shapes what’s possible.

This is what summer camp is all about—and it only happens because of the support of our communities, from being buddies campers trust to ensuring that no one is ever turned away for inability to pay.☀️

From Bethany Dickson, June’s mom 🤍
A glimpse into what the ESP beach trip means to their entire family:

“The ESP beach trip is so special to our family because it is the one time a year when we are arm-in-arm with one another, with not a care in the world. It’s as if time stands still, and for a brief moment, we get a glimpse of heaven. The sacrificial love you see and experience on this trip changes you. What I noticed this year was the siblings of the ESP members, and how strong and amazing they all are. They are truly people to be celebrated. We, as parents, become caregivers on day one, and so do the siblings. They are asked to learn patience way too young and to carry a heavy load. The siblings are true superheroes. Our family will forever be grateful for the amazing ESP by the Sea beach trip. We count down the days until it comes back around again.”

This is what makes ESP by the Sea so special. Not just the memories made, but the lives changed along the way.
