Today, we welcomed Senator Chris Kapenga and staff members from the offices of Rep. Adam Neylon and Senator Julian Bradley to Flight For Life – ThedaStar Headquarters at Crites Field in Waukesha.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase our operations and discuss the important role air medical transport plays throughout Wisconsin. With our headquarters in Waukesha, Flight For Life – ThedaStar is proud to serve communities across the region, providing rapid access to advanced critical care when emergencies demand specialized medical resources.

Our crews work alongside local EMS agencies, fire departments, and healthcare partners to support emergency response efforts and transport critically ill and injured patients. Through these partnerships, we help connect patients with the specialized care they need while supporting the emergency medical services that communities across Wisconsin rely on every day.

Thank you to Senator Kapenga and the staff from Representative Neylon’s and Senator Bradley’s offices for taking the time to visit our team, learn more about our operations, and recognize the important role air medical transport plays in serving Wisconsin.

A safety reminder for our partners in care—EMS agencies, hospitals, and dispatch centers.

When a medical helicopter provider declines a flight because of weather or another safety concern, contacting additional providers to find one that will accept is called “helicopter shopping.” Without clear communication, this can put patients and crews at risk.

If you contact another air medical provider, always share that the flight was previously declined and explain why. This information helps the next crew make a fully informed safety decision.

Weather, flight routes, and aircraft capabilities can differ between providers, so another assessment may be appropriate. However, a previous safety concern should always be part of that conversation.

Looking for an IT role in an interesting workplace with a supportive team? Join Flight For Life – ThedaStar! You’ll work alongside medical crews, pilots, communicators, and other professionals who share a commitment to safety and serving our communities.

Every day brings opportunities to solve problems, support your coworkers, and keep the technology behind our air medical operations running smoothly. Your work will include troubleshooting computer issues, supporting Microsoft 365, maintaining devices, and helping protect our systems.

We’re looking for someone with:
• At least two years of hands-on IT support experience
• An associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills

This position will begin in Waukesha and eventually support the Neenah, Waupaca, and New Holstein areas. Regular travel between bases is required.
