Taking more than one medication? Check the labels for acetaminophen.

Acetaminophen is found in many common pain relievers, cold medicines and prescription medications. A new 25-year study of U.S. poison center data found that acetaminophen was the most frequently implicated substance in reported cases of liver injury.

The reminder is simple: Check medication labels, follow dosing directions and be aware when more than one medication you take contains acetaminophen.

We’ve had a lot of interest in how Dr. Veronika Gagovic did at the Mrs. International pageant. So even though the event has wrapped, we wanted to share an update.

Dr. Gagovic was the first woman from Bosnia to compete at Mrs. International. She advanced to the finals, in the Top 15, and received the Community Service Award for her platform dedicated to colon cancer prevention.

Mrs. International celebrates accomplished married women who are making a meaningful difference through leadership, service, and community involvement.

As a board-certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Gagovic is passionate about preventing colorectal cancer through education, awareness and early detection. Her work extends beyond the clinic through community outreach and The Colon Health Project.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Omar Calderón Jr. to GI Associates!

This is Dr. Calderón’s first week seeing patients. We are so glad to have him join our practice and the community.

Dr. Calderón completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and speaks both English and Spanish.

New to central Wisconsin, Dr. Calderón and his wife are enjoying getting to know the area and especially appreciate its family-friendly atmosphere.
