You can be exhausted and still have a mind that refuses to be quiet.
You replay conversations.
You second guess decisions you already made.
You think about what needs to happen tomorrow, what might go wrong next week, and whether that little thing you noticed today means something you should be worried about.
Somewhere along the way, you may have started believing that you just need to get better at controlling your thoughts.
But what if overthinking isn't always just a thinking problem?
Your brain doesn't operate separately from the rest of your body.
Your nervous system, stress response, sleep, hormones, blood sugar, and nutritional status can all be part of the bigger picture.
That doesn't mean every anxious thought has a physical cause.
It does mean we may need to stop looking at women who can't "just relax" as though they're simply not trying hard enough.
I wrote today's blog for the woman whose mind rarely seems to turn off.
If that's you, I hope it helps you look at what you're experiencing with a little more curiosity and a lot less judgment.

Have you ever been told that you just need to stop overthinking?
