WOW!! How is it even possible to have been 40 years already.

We want to thank everyone of our customers for their support over the years. Obviously, without you all we wouldn’t be here. We give thanks to God for all he has done. We dedicated our business to God from the beginning. We wanted him to use us and our business for his glory and to be an encouragement and to help others in our community.

40 years ago this week we opened our salon at Northgate Shopping Center. We were there from 11-1981 to 5-1984. In 1984 there was a huge fire in the shopping center that destroyed 15 businesses and we were one of them. Everything we had there was destroyed so we started over at 1204-A Ferris Avenue. With no fire insurance we started over completely, without anything. Our families were so supportive and helped us relocate quickly. My brothers and brother in law helped with the construction of our new location getting cabinets and all ready to go. We went out to purchase new equipment and supplies. We had taken our first appointment book home so that is the only one we had left. Some of the people listed in that book are still clients, some have passed and others are still great friends.

The next challenge came 3-17-1989 when a car drove through our salon and destroyed everything in the place accept one mirror that was hanging on the wall. Thankfully no one was in the building. The lady driving was not injured either. There was an empty space in our building at the opposite end and we relocated there for about six weeks while we remodeled again.

Yes, it happened again a few short years later. This time the lady only came halfway into the salon and thankfully no one was hurt seriously. There was only one minor injury. If you notice where we are now all the parking is facing away from our building.

We purchased a lot in 1995 and built the building we are in now. We have been blessed over the years with many great employees. I’m going to try to name them all and I hope I don’t leave anyone out, please forgive me and let me know if I did. Lynn Thornhill Alvarez, Barry Wilsford,and Sandi Schlup-Odorizzi, started working with us at our first location. Pam Carpenter, Annette Murray Harwell, Gary Dollar, Lori Moore, T-Kay Timmerman joined at the second location. At the third location more joined over the years, Misty McClain, Lori Meister, Jaye Howell, Mary Eisler, Deborah Daughtery, Anna, Darla Adams, Lori Dollar, Chelsea Raggio, Kristen Hayslip, Lindsey Frye, Melissa Fleck, Vicki Norris, Raina Easley, Valarie Trinkle, Jennifer Hood, Kasi Boerigter, Gena Crabtree, Erin Bynum, Chau Do, Bria Fundaro, Sydney Featherston, Carly Timms, and Leilani Manriquez.
Honorary employees are Justin Miles, Brady Miles, Denae Miles, and Alex Miles. They put in their share of time helping with the family business. 😊

Our staff now includes Misty McClain, Lori Meister, Sydney Featherston, Chau V. Do, Carly Anne Timms, and Leilani Manriquez.
We are very thankful for each of them, and they make coming to work very enjoyable. We love you all!!!

We have had some interesting hairdos over the years. 😊

We have lots of texts and messages that we are trying to get to asap.

April 27th update: per Gov. Abbott’s new orders, we are projected to open back up May 18th. 🤞🏼🙏🏻 We want to get back to work as much as you want us too!

Update: unfortunately as you know we won't be back until May 1st, as of now. We will update when we know more.

We just wanted to let everyone know that we are closed now until April 17th, or until the Shelter In Place Ordinance has been lifted. We all want to do our part to flatten the curve and get back to work.

We are not making appointments until we know when we are going back. The clients that already have appointments scheduled will be contacted first. If you would like to get on the list it will be on a first “comment” basis. Comment below and we will add you to that ever growing list.
