Reiki is a Japanese method of hands on healing developed by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. The philosophy of Reiki is that each of us share the responsibility of creating our illnesses as well as our healing. Reiki teaches that we can ignite the divine spark within all of us and learn techniques to heal ourselves and others in a very natural way by simple light touch. As Usui sensei healed

thousands of souls he came to realize that once healed of one ailment, some soon came to be victims of others. And that without real transformation and change of behavior and thinking, ongoing health and vitality were ultimately compromised. For this reason he developed the 5 Reiki Principles to be used with Reiki meditation on a daily basis. Not a religion, the precepts encompass a universal way of living with each other and nature that supports and provides a roadmap of healing of our mind, body, emotional and spiritual health. Sema Tihan believes and follows the philosophy that she facilitates healing, but that ongoing change and daily practice must be present for ongoing benefits. To this end The Reiki Healing Center of NJ was opened in 2008 to treat, teach and empower all those drawn to this natural and simple therapy. She brings her gifts of insight and energy intuitiveness to each living being seeking her services and healing.
