Maybe your periods are still arriving, but less predictably. You’re waking during the night, feeling more irritable, or noticing that your usual routine feels harder to manage. It can be difficult to explain when several things have changed gradually.

Perimenopause may be part of that conversation. Your provider can also consider other contributors, including thyroid conditions, iron status, medications and sleep.

At MIMC, we take time to understand what’s changed, when you first noticed it and how it’s affecting you. That history helps guide the evaluation and a discussion of care options.

You don’t need to wait until your periods stop to bring it up. Explore women’s health care at MIMC through the link in our bio.

When fatigue starts affecting your day, it’s understandable to look for something that might help. But what helped a friend may have little to do with what’s causing your exhaustion.

At MIMC, we want to know when it started, what else you’ve noticed and how it’s changed your life. A heavier period if cycling, disrupted sleep or a change in digestion may be something you hadn’t thought to connect to your energy.

You don’t need to know which details are medically relevant before your appointment. Bring what you’ve noticed. Your provider can help make sense of it and determine what deserves a closer look.

There are parts of your health that can be difficult to understand in a quick visit.

Mental health is one of them. Sleep is another.

Anxiety and depression can have contributing factors beyond what’s happening in your day-to-day life. And when it comes to sleep, the number of hours you get only tells part of the story. Quality, depth, how you feel when you wake up, and your sleep routine can all offer important context.

These are the kinds of conversations we believe deserve more time and curiosity.

If you feel like there’s more to your symptoms than what’s been uncovered so far, book a visit with our team through the link in bio.

As Minnesota’s days grow shorter, vitamin D often comes up in conversations about preparing for the colder months.

Early fall is a good time to review what you’re getting through food and supplements, and whether your health history gives your clinician a reason to check your level.

Bring your supplement list, including doses, to your next appointment.

Save this for your next visit. To discuss your fall and winter care with MIMC, schedule through the link in our bio.

When your calendar is full, it’s easy to keep working around symptoms. You adjust your meals because of bloating, rely on another coffee to get through the afternoon, or accept interrupted sleep as part of a demanding week.

Those details deserve attention alongside your long-term health.

We work with busy professionals to make care manageable: clear priorities, guidance on medical decisions, and a plan that fits into the routines they already have. Knowing what to focus on, and having someone to turn to with questions, can make following through feel much more achievable.

If you’ve been meaning to address something but haven’t known where to begin, learn more about becoming a patient at MIMC through the link in our bio.

We’re exposed to things in our environment every day. But when does that exposure become relevant to your health?

Mold toxins, certain heavy metals, pesticides, solvents, and other environmental toxicants can affect the body in different ways depending on the type, dose, duration of exposure, and the individual.

When there’s reason to suspect an environmental exposure may be contributing to someone’s symptoms, we want to understand the full picture: What have you been exposed to? Is the exposure ongoing? And what can realistically be changed?

The goal is to identify what’s relevant, reduce exposure where possible, and determine what support makes sense from there.

Dr. Eric explains what we mean when we talk about your “toxicant burden.”

Fall is a good time to check in- not just on your calendar, but on your health.

As the season changes, take a moment to ask yourself:

How is my energy?
How am I sleeping?
How is my digestion?
How am I feeling hormonally?
What has changed since spring?
And what do I want my health to look like going into winter?

At Minneapolis Integrative Medicine Center, we take a personalized approach to answering those questions. Your care isn’t based on a generic lab panel or a one-size-fits-all protocol. We look at your history, symptoms, lifestyle, labs, and goals to create a plan that is specific to you.

Consider this your reminder to schedule your fall health check-in. 🍁

A long list of lab results can look comprehensive. But the number of biomarkers tested only tells you how much data was collected.

At MIMC, we start with the person in front of us.

Your symptoms, health history, medications, supplements, previous labs and goals all help your clinician determine what testing could actually be useful. For some patients, that may mean a focused set of labs. For others, it may include more comprehensive or specialized functional testing.

Every test should help answer a clinical question: What are we trying to understand? What could this result tell us? Would it change your care?

And once those results come back, they’re interpreted in the context of your whole health picture, not viewed as isolated numbers on a report.

Your lab plan should be as individual as your care plan. We believe in thoughtful testing, clinical interpretation and using the right information to determine what comes next.

Hair shedding can be influenced by what was happening in your body weeks or even months ago, from illness and hormonal changes to seasonal shifts and other stressors.

A few things worth paying attention to: how long the shedding has been happening, whether you’re noticing clumps or visible thinning, and what changed in the months before it started.

If the shedding is persistent or your hair feels noticeably different, it may be time to look a little deeper.

At MIMC, we look beyond the hair itself to understand what may be contributing to the change. Book a visit through the link in bio.
