🏹🤍 BECAUSE EVERY CHILD DESERVES TO FEEL SEEN, HEARD & UNDERSTOOD!

Crunchy mamas, this is one vendor we’re especially excited for you to meet! 🌿

We’re welcoming Guiding Arrows Counseling to the Crunchy Fall Market THIS FRIDAY! 🍂

Let’s be real… parenting is beautiful, but sometimes navigating big emotions, sensory challenges, anxiety, or simply understanding how our children’s brains work can feel overwhelming.

And sometimes, we need a little guidance along the way. 🤍

That’s where Guiding Arrows Counseling comes in!

Their team provides compassionate, individualized support for children, teens, young adults, and families through:

🌿 Play Therapy — Helping little ones express and process emotions through play.

🧠 Autism, ADHD, OCD & Sensory Processing Assessments — Helping families better understand their child’s unique needs.

🤍 Parent Support — Because parents deserve encouragement and guidance, too!

🏹 Teen Therapy — Supporting adolescents through life’s challenges and transitions.

✨ LENS Neurofeedback — An additional service offered as part of their approach to care.

What we especially appreciate is their emphasis on neuroaffirming, attachment-focused, and evidence-based care.

Their message says it beautifully:

“Support for every stage. Hope for every story.” 🤍

Whether you’re navigating challenges with your child, looking for resources, or simply wanting to learn more about supporting your family’s emotional well-being, stop by and meet the Guiding Arrows team!

What if some of the most meaningful moments in therapy have nothing to do with the “right” words?

So often, clinicians can become deeply focused on what they’re saying — wondering if they said the right thing, said it the right way, or whether their words may have upset a client.

And while words absolutely matter 💬, I also wonder if sometimes our reliance on spoken language can unintentionally pull us away from something even more important: presence.

Because when we slow down and really notice, the deeper question becomes:

Are we relying on words for connection?
Or are we relying on our ability to attune, to track, and to simply be present? ✨
It’s also important to remember that many clients may not use spoken language, or may communicate in ways different from our own.

So I want to invite a little curiosity:

💬How am I with silence?
💬How am I with relying on my own attunement through my body?
💬How do I feel just sitting with the activation in my system?
💬How about feeling the activation in my client’s system and not saying anything about it?

Sometimes words can become a protective strategy. Sometimes they help us move away from uncertainty instead of allowing us to sit in curiosity.

Over the next couple of weeks, maybe notice:

When do you choose words?
When do you choose silence?
And are there other ways to communicate “I’m with you”?
A breath. 🌬️ A nod. 😌 A softened expression. 🤍 Presence.

With that, I’m inviting you into a deeper place of curiosity with your own spoken language and your own use of your words.

Much love on the journey, 💜

Lisa

What if our children aren’t being defiant… but human?

So often, we jump to correction before connection. But when we lead with curiosity—“I think you forgot”—we leave room for growth instead of shame.

Kids rise to the story we tell about them. When we believe in their goodness, they begin to believe it too. 💛

Small, consistent moments. 💛

Small, consistent moments. 💛

A child’s behavior is often a reflection of how full (or empty) their emotional cup feels.
Connection, validation, and encouragement go a long way. 💛 🥤
Filling their cup doesn’t take big moments, just small, consistent ones.
The way we listen, validate, and connect becomes their inner voice.

Maya Angelou said, “People will never forget how you made them feel.” Kids are no exception.

Our tone, presence, and how we use power are sending powerful messages about how they should behave in the world.

I don't think we mean to send the message, "When you're young or have less power, you have to comply — otherwise, you can control."

But that's what they hear. They internalize values from how we make them feel while we lead, not the commands or demands we make.

Compliance might change behavior in the short-term.
Connection changes how kids make decisions in the long-term.

The holiday season can bring a mix of emotions, memories, and challenges that differ from person to person. Here's why it's important to recognize this:

❤️‍🩹🎄 Personal Loss or Grief: For those who have lost loved ones, Christmas can amplify feelings of sadness and longing, as traditions and gatherings may feel incomplete.

❤️‍🩹🎄Financial Pressures: The commercial aspect of the holidays can create stress for people struggling to meet expectations or make ends meet.

❤️‍🩹🎄Family Dynamics: Not everyone has a supportive or harmonious family, and the holidays can bring tension or highlight painful relationships.

❤️‍🩹🎄Loneliness: For some, Christmas may emphasize isolation, especially for those who are far from family or don't have a close community to celebrate with.

❤️‍🩹🎄Mental Health Challenges: The societal pressure to feel joyous can make it harder for those dealing with depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues.

❤️‍🩹🎄Cultural or Religious Differences: Not everyone celebrates Christmas or shares the same traditions, and feeling "outside" the norm can be isolating.

By acknowledging these realities, we can make space for compassion, understanding, and inclusivity, allowing people to honor their feelings and experiences, whatever they may be. Christmas doesn't have to be "wonderful" for it to be meaningful or for people to find moments of peace in their own way..
