Over the past several years, Flora Massage + Wellness Studio has grown into something far deeper than we ever imagined when this journey first began. What started with a simple vision to help people feel better in their bodies has continued evolving into a growing space centered around intentional care, nervous system support, healing, education + genuine human connection.
Every service we provide represents far more than the time spent in the treatment room. Behind each appointment are years of continued education, advanced training, hands-on experience, clinical understanding, and an ongoing commitment to refining our craft so we can continue offering thoughtful, effective, and personalized care to every client who walks through our doors.
Our team collectively carries more than four decades of experience and thousands of hours dedicated to the study and practice of therapeutic bodywork, pain management, recovery, holistic wellness, and nervous system regulation. Our therapists have continued investing heavily into advanced education and specialized modalities well beyond standard licensing requirements because we truly believe that continuing to learn allows us to better serve this community.
As our studio continues to grow, it has become increasingly important for our structure to better reflect the varying levels of experience, education, specialization, and demand among our team.
Moving forward, in the near future, select therapists within our studio will transition into 'Master Level Therapist' pricing. This designation reflects therapists who have obtained extensive advanced training, years of clinical experience, specialized therapeutic focus, continued education investments, and demonstrated history of delivering highly customized, advanced care.
This adjustment is not simply about the length of a session. It reflects the depth of knowledge, refined skillset, clinical intuition + years of dedication that contribute to the quality of care being provided.
We also understand that any increase in pricing can feel significant, especially during a time where the cost of nearly everything continues to rise. Please know these decisions are never made lightly. Like many small businesses, we have experienced substantial increases in operational expenses across products, supplies, utilities, payroll, software, continuing education, equipment and the many behind-the-scenes costs required to continue operating at the level we strive for.
Throughout the years, we have also intentionally included many complimentary enhancements vs. 'nickel and diming' within our sessions because we genuinely believe they contribute to your overall well- being and create a more supportive therapeutic experience. Hot towels, essential oils, salves, butters, and other restorative additions have often been incorporated at no additional cost simply because caring for people well has always remained at the center of what we do.
Additionally, we are continually looking for ways to improve. Not only within the therapies we provide, but within the overall experience, environment, education, equipment, and quality of care we provide as a whole. Investing back into our studio, our therapists, community and clients has always been deeply important to us and will remain.
As a business owner, one of the things I value most deeply is the incredible team we have built. They truly show up every day with compassion, professionalism, skillset, heart, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. My goal has to create an environment where our team feels supported, respected, valued, and properly cared for is high; because when our therapists are able to thrive, we are able to continue fully showing up.
We also want to openly share something we feel strongly about as an appointment- based small business. When an appointment is scheduled at Flora, that time is reserved specifically for you. Once booked, that appointment time is no longer available to another client seeking care for as long as its is blocked with your appointment time.
Our therapists structure their schedules around those appointments, prepare for each session—and in many cases travel significant distances to be here and serve this community. Out of respect for our therapists and the commitment they make to every reserved appointment, Flora Massage + Wellness Studio compensates our therapists for their scheduled time regardless of whether a client arrives for their session and that is not something we intend to change.
Unfortunately, short- notice cancellations and no- shows create a substantial impact not only on our studio, but directly on the therapists who have intentionally held that time for a client’s care. Those appointments are rarely able to be refilled last minute, leaving reserved treatment time unused while another client may have needed it.
In order to continue operating sustainably while maintaining the level of consistency sustainability, professionalism, and care we built this studio on; all appointments will require a non-refundable 50% deposit at the time of booking moving forward.
All Appointments canceled or rescheduled with more than 24 hours notice may have that deposit applied toward a future appointment date. All appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice as well as no-shows will remain responsible for 100% of the scheduled service amount.
We understand that life happens, emergencies arise, and unexpected situations occur. We will always strive to approach circumstances with compassion and understanding. In return, we simply ask for that same respect toward the time, preparation, and care intentionally reserved for each appointment.
