Hey y'all 🌻

My Scooby-Doo platform Crocs will ALWAYS be my favorites. 💕 But right now, they're just not the shoes I can safely groove in.

Good thing turquoise is still my favorite color. 😉🩵

So the turquoise Chucks are stepping in for a while. Different shoes, same FNDiva Disco Chicken. 🐔🪩✨

I still got pep in my step. It just looks a little different right now.

So we lace up the Chucks, grab the ice cream, throw in a few dance moves, and keep finding the joy. 🍦💃🏽✨

For now, we're just wiggling along and finding my steps, one centimeter at a time. 🌱

Hey y'all 🌻

What a day! ❤️🤍💙

Getting to sing the Canadian National Anthem at the Astros game was such an incredible honor. The Astros took home a 7-2 win over the Blue Jays...
..and I'm just saying, they've never lost when I've sung. 😉⚾️✨

Before the game, I also got to meet WWE superstars Lash Legend and Trick Williams. I'll be honest, I knew my nephew is a huge fan and my cousin Maddy has a wrestling podcast, so I had to grab a picture to send them. 😄

Between baseball, Harry Potter Night, $1 hot dogs, and making memories with family and friends, it turned into one of those days I'll never forget.

Oh... and I may or may not have spent part of the night trying to play matchmaker for my friend Ty. 😂

So if you happen to be a cute, single guy who loves Jesus... I'll just leave that right there. Meet me down in the Coop (comments). Ty's tagged. 🐔✨

Thank y'all so much for all the love and support. And a special shoutout to Ty for being my Chicken Tender of the night. 🥹🐔💛

💪 FND Do It! – Episode 2: First Deep Water Float

Apparently, my internal dialogue for this challenge was...

"Oh s**t."
"Oh s**t."
"...oh s**t." 😂

And honestly? That's okay.

Doing something new doesn't always look fearless. Sometimes it looks like laughing, spinning in circles, saying "oh s**t" a few dozen times, and doing it anyway.

This Fourth of July, while celebrating America's 250th birthday, I decided to celebrate something else, too—doing something I wasn't sure I could do.

This was my first time floating in deep water since my FND diagnosis. Was I nervous? Absolutely. Did I still giggle through it? Also absolutely.

Sometimes courage isn't quiet or graceful.
Sometimes courage is floating in circles, laughing at yourself, and realizing you did something you weren't sure you could do.

Happy 250th Birthday, America! ❤️🤍💙

🍸 Shaken, Not Stirred: Episode 2 – Getting Answers

One thing I've learned is that diagnosing Functional Neurological Disorder usually isn't something that happens in a single appointment. It often takes a team of healthcare professionals working together to rule out other possibilities and recognize what's actually happening.

I was fortunate to have access to specialists and a major medical center that helped me get answers relatively quickly. I know that isn't everyone's experience.

Many people living with FND spend years searching for a diagnosis, seeing multiple providers, and trying to make sense of symptoms that don't always fit neatly into a box.

So if you're still looking for answers, I see you. And if you've finally found them, I hope you know how significant that moment can be.

🍸 Today's Cocktail: The Ruby Rosé 🌹✨

A floral, bubbly twist on a French 75 that I've affectionately nicknamed the Ruby Rosé.

Recipe:
• 1½–2 oz Edinburgh Rhubarb & Ginger Gin
• ½–¾ oz fresh lime juice
• ½–¾ oz simple syrup
• La Marca Prosecco Rosé to top
• Edible flowers for garnish

Shake the gin, lime juice, and simple syrup with ice. Strain into a flute or coupe glass and top with Prosecco Rosé. Garnish with edible flowers and enjoy.

Here's to finding answers, building the right team, and celebrating every step forward.

Hey y'all 🌻

🎶 They see me rollin'... 🎶

The walker has glitter rhinestone tape.
There's a tiny foghorn for dramatic effect.
And Duckter Cool 🦆 serves as the official squeaky notification system.

At this point, mobility aids aren't just something I use—they're part of the crew.

Was Functional Neurological Disorder the plot twist I expected? Not exactly.

But one thing I've learned is that joy is important. If mobility aids are going to be part of my life, I want them to make me smile.

So the FN Diva Disco Chicken chose sparkle, squeaks, and a whole lot of personality. ✨🐔

Because sometimes adapting isn't just about making things easier—it's about finding ways to make them joyful.

Hey y'all 🌻

Welcome to the very first episode of FND Do It! 💪

Living with Functional Neurological Disorder has introduced a lot of uncertainty into my life. There are things I can do, things I can't do, and a whole lot of things sitting somewhere in between.

This series is about exploring that middle ground.

Some challenges will be big. Some will be small. Some will go exactly as planned, and some definitely won't. But the goal isn't perfection—it's being willing to try.

This first challenge takes us back to some of my early home health physical therapy sessions. While these clips are from an earlier stage of my journey, the work is still ongoing. I'm still participating in neurological physical therapy, still learning, still adapting, and still discovering what my body can do.

Because sometimes the answer isn't "I can't."

Sometimes the answer is, "Let's find out."

Hey y'all 🌻

Welcome to the very first episode of Functional & Fancy FN Dining. 🍽️

Living with FND means that sometimes the way I cook looks a little different than I expected. But different doesn't mean boring.

This series is all about finding creative ways to make meals work for your body while still enjoying good food along the way.

Today's menu: turkey bacon sandwiches, broccoli cheddar soup, and a fresh salad. A simple meal with a little extra fiber, a few adaptations, and a reminder that feeding yourself doesn't have to be all-or-nothing.

No stove today. No problem.

Around here, "fancy" isn't about perfection. It's about making what works feel special.

Hey y'all 🌻

Welcome to the very first episode of Shaken, Not Stirred! 🍸

I live with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a dynamic disability that can look different from one day to the next. This series is about navigating life as it comes—sometimes shaken up, but never stirred out of living it.

Today's cocktail: a Gimlet.

🍸 Gimlet Recipe
• 2 oz gin
• 1 oz fresh lime juice
• 1 oz simple syrup

Add ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a lime wheel if you'd like.

Here's to trying new things, embracing the unexpected, and finding joy where we can.

Hey y'all 🌻

Over the last few weeks, I've shared pieces of my journey with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)—the hard moments, the hopeful moments, and the reality of learning how to navigate a dynamic disability one day at a time.

As this community grows, I wanted to share a few recurring series you'll start seeing around here:

🍸 Shaken, Not Stirred
Conversations about FND, disability, adaptation, and life while making one of my favorite things—a good cocktail.

🥪 Functional & Fancy (FN Dining)
Simple meals, snacks, and the real-life challenge of feeding myself when symptoms, fatigue, and brain fog make everyday tasks a little more complicated.

💪 FN Do It
Trying new things, finding new ways to do old things, and reminding myself that disability may change how I do something—but it doesn't always mean I can't do it.

This page isn't about having all the answers.

It's about learning, adapting, showing grace, finding humor when I can, and sharing the reality of life with FND.

Whether you're living with FND, supporting someone who is, or simply here to learn, I'm glad you're here.
