Memorial Day weekend reminder ☀️🇺🇸

As temperatures start climbing this summer, don’t forget hydration plays a huge role in energy, recovery, and overall health.

A simple cue to gauge hydration? Check your urine color — light yellow is the goal. Darker urine may be a sign you need more fluids.

A general hydration goal is around 35 mL/kg body weight daily, with electrolytes added when needed — especially during long runs, outdoor activities, heavy sweating, or time in the heat.

I’ll be sharing a more detailed post soon on how to choose the best electrolytes based on your individual needs because not every option fits every person.

PCOS ➡️ Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS).

The change aims to better reflect that PCOS is more than just an ovarian condition — it can impact hormones, metabolism, insulin resistance, inflammation, fertility, and overall health.

Many providers and advocates feel the updated name could help improve awareness, earlier diagnosis, and more comprehensive care for those living with it. A reminder that PCOS is complex and deserves care that looks at the whole body, not just symptoms.

As a dietitian, nutrition support can play a big role in managing symptoms through balanced meals, blood sugar support, reducing inflammation, improving energy levels, and creating sustainable habits that support hormone health long-term.

Keeping meals simple is my thing — and sometimes that means relying on packaged foods.

I love mixing and matching some of my favorite frozen + fresh items to make meals easier and less stressful. Grabbing salad kits, frozen grains, pre-cut veggies, or convenience items is not a bad thing, especially if it helps you stay consistent and on track with your goals.

Nutrition doesn’t have to mean making everything from scratch. Simple, realistic meals still count.

The love, patience, sacrifices, and care you pour into your families never go unnoticed. Between the busy schedules and taking care of everyone else, I hope today you give yourself permission to slow down, rest, nourish your body, and soak in the love you so freely give to others.

I’ll let the results speak for themselves. I’m incredibly proud of my client—she has shown up consistently for more than nine months, and her progress reflects her hard work and commitment.

When she first came to me, she was frustrated and discouraged. She felt like no matter what she did, her blood sugar wouldn’t improve. She’d have a few good days, then suddenly her numbers would spike again. She understood the basics of blood sugar control, but it still felt like she was running in circles.

Our first step was to assess her daily intake of carbohydrates, protein, fat, and fiber to understand what her meals were missing. From there, we made small, targeted adjustments—and that’s when we started to see the results.

The Cap10k is still a top favorite race! I love this course even though it felt a bit tougher this year. 8:45 min pace... not my best but I enjoyed it regardless!!
