Can we talk about something for a minute?
Insurance is hard. Not for us, for you. We see it every single day: a patient needs a medication, sometimes a life-saving one, and instead of just... getting it, there's a maze. Prior authorizations. Specialist sign-offs. Coverage denials. Appeals. Phone calls that go nowhere and then somewhere and then nowhere again. And at the end of all of it, we still can't get you your medication the way we want to: today, in your hands, the right way. Sometimes, despite everything, we just can't get the medicine at all.
Occasionally that means we have to send your script somewhere else because of coverage requirements or product availability totally outside our control. We hate that. We know how disruptive and scary it is to be told mid-treatment that your medicine has to go somewhere new. That's never the outcome we're hoping for when we pick up the phone to fight for your coverage in the first place.
That's exactly why we're so grateful for our fellow local pharmacists and their teams, the ones who are always willing to come alongside a patient and help however they can, no matter how messy or frustrating the struggle gets. We're all in this together, and knowing there are other pharmacies in this community who care that much makes all the difference.
What we want you to know is this: if there's ever a delay getting something covered, it's not because we didn't try. Our team, especially our pharmacy technicians, spends hours navigating this system for you. They're on hold with insurance companies, tracking down prior auths, calling doctors' offices, and doing it all while still filling scripts and taking care of everyone who walks through the door. They do it thanklessly, not because of some corporate metric, but because they genuinely love the people they serve. They rarely get thanked for it, and they deserve so much more credit than they get.
So if you've ever felt frustrated waiting on a medication, please know, we feel that frustration right alongside you. We're not going to stop fighting for you because we LOVE you!💊🏡 ✝
