Heres my doodle of the evening. I was definitely feeling my anime roots with this one.

Since I am unable to tattoo for the time being, and because I miss working at where I could make jewelry weekly, I have decided to invest some time in making jewelry to sell. I love the process. I love finding crystals that spark my curiosity and creativity. I love designing the wrap so that it accentuates the beauty of the stone centerpiece. And I love big crystal jewelry that really showcases the goddess that you are. So here’s a sneak peak at a pair of earrings I’m working on now. Two long spears of Amethyst that were dug up looking just so. I was told that at one time these points were part of a massive geode that fractured, but the individual points all continued to grow and self-heal on their own. That process created this very unique dagger shape. I’ve paired these Amethysts with silver and green amethyst beads for added sparkle.
I’m unsure how I am going to go about selling at this time. I want to sell in a few stores around the valley as well as selling through insta and fb. I may eventually get an Etsy, depending on how this goes. I’ll post more as I go.

Mural day 2 & 3: well, I’m learning a lot.
Biggest lesson so far is this: buy high quality paint, and don’t buy full gallons. I didn’t know this, and I may be kicking myself for not thinking it through before buying. Yesterday I taped out the major lines and did the first coat. Today I did a second coat, gave it time to dry, and then realized it’s going to need a third coat. So I decided to start playing with the next color, lime green, because I needed to see some progress. So far, so good. More to come!

Mural day 1: prep.
So, this is a whole new concept for me. I dabbled with a mural in my old shop, but I’ve never done anything this large or geometric. Today has consisted of TSPing the wall, sketching out the lines and labeling them on paper to make sure I know exactly where everything goes. Then I tackled the actual wall. I measured, marked, measured, marked, and so on, and repeatedly interrupted Sams brick laying project so that he could help me hold up a 10ft board as a guide to draw a straight line from point A to point B.
In typical Jaime fashion I had to choose a geometric mural on an 8x14ft wall, in a narrow breezeway where there’s literally no way to get a straight on picture 🤦‍♀️. I had to design the mock-up at an angle because it was the only way to get a picture of the whole wall, so ultimately I had to do a ton of tweaking to the design. But I’m happy with where it’s at now. Now I get to actually slap some paint up there!
I had to up the contrast on the wall picture a ton so you could get a good idea of the pencil marks, the wall isn’t actually that grungy. :)

Samuel had the idea for me to do a mural on the side of our shed. So this is what I’ll be working on for the next few days 🤓 I’ve power washed the wall today, tomorrow I’ll TSP and tape.

Day 7. Reset.
Spring is finally in full swing. The flowers are blooming, leaves sprouting, and the earth seems to be waking up. It’s time to start fresh. Doing my best to remember that even in this discouraging time. Thank you to those of you who participated in my little draw-along. 💕

Day 6. Self.
I haven’t been wanting to admit it, but this quarantine is beginning to mess with me. I draw so much joy and contentment from my job. It’s challenging and rewarding, and I truly enjoy being able to spend time with each of my clients. It’s not a dull career path, that is for sure.
I’m grateful for the precautions set by the governor, I think its important for us all to stay home and flatten the curve. But this quarantine seems to have invited my old friend Depression to pay me a visit. I know that everything will eventually be fine and life will go on, but it is heartbreaking to not be able to work, especially when I have so many fun projects waiting to be tattooed!
All I am really trying to say is that I miss my career, my clients, and my friends.
Because of my depression, my Creative Quarantine Prompt drawings are getting less and less detailed and thoughtful. But I’ll keep on posting nonetheless.
And to all of you out there who are also experiencing depression due to isolation, you aren’t alone. This too shall pass.
