Do you hit a wall somewhere between lunch and dinner?

Your energy drops.
Your focus disappears.
You start reaching for another cup of coffee, something sugary, or anything that might help you get through the rest of the day.

Over time, many people start believing this is just normal, and that feeling exhausted by 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon is simply part of modern life. I'm not convinced that's true.

While it's normal for energy to rise and fall throughout the day, constantly feeling like you're running on fumes is often a sign that your body needs more support than it's currently getting.

Sometimes it's lack of .
Sometimes it's stress.
Sometimes it's too much hustle that results in inconsistent meals, dehydration, too much caffeine, or simply trying to do too much for too long.

What I find interesting is that many people respond to low energy by adding more stimulation.
More coffee.
More pushing.
More effort.

Yet what the body is often asking for is nourishment... along with gentleness, compassion, and greater self-love.

One of my favorite herbs for this conversation is tulsi (also known as holy basil).

🌿 Tulsi has been treasured in herbal traditions for centuries and is often called "the incomparable one." Rather than pushing the body harder, it has traditionally been used to help people remain steady during demanding seasons of life. Many people describe it as helping them feel more like themselves again.

🌿 Rosemary is another fascinating herb. Historically, it has been associated with memory, focus, and mental sharpness. It brings a brightness and clarity that many people appreciate when they feel mentally foggy or scattered.

🌿 Then there's ginkgo, a plant that has been used for generations to support mental performance, attention, & overall cognitive vitality.

These herbs are part of what inspired my Study Time tincture.

For people who want something a bit more ritualistic, I also love Afternoon Reset tea. It combines rosemary with lemon balm and lavender to create a blend that feels both refreshing and grounding.

Unwind Me is an herbal tea to calm the mind, release tension, and gently guide the body into ease.

Calm your mind and body with this soothing blend designed to help you release stress and relax fully into the moment.

Like a soft exhale after a long day, this calming blend helps your body and mind let go of tension and find balance. Unwind Me brings together soothing herbs that gently relax the nervous system and ease the weight of stress. Each sip feels like a reminder that you don’t need to carry it all — you can simply soften, surrender, and be.

Ritual Suggestion: As the tea steeps, close your eyes and roll your shoulders back, letting the weight of the day slip away. Hold your warm cup in both hands and whisper quietly, “I allow myself to rest.” Breathe deeply, then sip slowly, welcoming stillness into your body.

Ingredients:
Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)
Chamomile (Matricaria recutita)
Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora)
Linden (Tilia cordata)
Catnip (Nepeta cataria)

You finally get into bed.

The day is done.
Things are quiet.

You should be able to relax.
But your mind keeps going.

You replay conversations.
You think about tomorrow.
Your body feels tired, but not settled.

That disconnect is more common than people realize.

Here’s what’s usually happening in your body:
Your nervous system has two main modes.

One is activation, often called "fight or flight."
The other is regulation, often called "rest and digest."

Throughout the day, your body moves between these states.

But when stress, pressure, or constant input build up, your system can stay slightly activated longer than it should.

Even at night.

That means:
your heart rate stays a little elevated
your breathing stays a little shallow
your brain stays more alert than restful

So when you lie down, your body is physically still, but your system hasn’t fully shifted.

That’s why sleep can feel delayed, light, or restless.

A simple way to help your body shift states is to give it a clear signal that it’s safe to power down.

Here’s a short protocol you can try tonight:

⏱️Minute 1–2
Dim the lights and remove stimulation. No phone, no TV.

⏱️Minute 3–5
Breathe in gently through your nose for 4 counts, out through your mouth for 6–8 counts. Longer exhales help activate the parasympathetic response, which supports relaxation.

⏱️Minute 6–10
Sip something warm slowly. Let your body feel the temperature and the pause. That combination matters more than people expect.

You’re not just "relaxing."
You’re actively shifting your nervous system.

Herbal support can strengthen that shift. These are two options to help support you:
🌼Deep Rest tincture to quiet restlessness & promote sleep
🌸Unwind Me tea for gentle release and deep ease

These work by supporting calming pathways in the body, including GABA activity, which helps slow down overactive signaling in the brain.

Over time, this kind of support can help your system become more responsive.

👉 But if your body consistently struggles to settle, there is usually a deeper pattern underneath it.

That pattern won’t fully change through routines alone.

Inside the Nervous System Reset Session, we work directly with your system so it can actually learn how to shift out of that activated state.

You don’t have to be in crisis to know something isn’t right.

If your system feels constantly "on," most people try to push through it.

They stay busy.
They stay distracted.
They try to ignore how their body feels.

But that usually makes it worse over time.

A simpler place to start is this:
Give your system something that signals it can soften.

This is where herbal support can help.

For example, a simple nervous system tincture or tea can:
take the edge off tension
help your body settle more easily
create small moments where you feel more grounded

It’s not dramatic.
But it’s noticeable.

And sometimes that’s exactly what your body needs to begin shifting.

If you’ve been feeling wired, tense, or unable to fully relax, this is a good place to start.

One thing to keep in mind:

If your system has been in this state for a while, support helps.
But it doesn’t always change the underlying pattern on its own.

That’s where deeper work comes in.

When you’re ready for that, the Nervous System Reset Session is where we work directly with your system to create a real shift.

But for now, start simple.

Give your system something to work with.

Much love,
Krysti

P.S. Small shifts done consistently often open the door to bigger changes. This is one of the easiest ways to begin.

You can feel exhausted and still not be able to relax.

That’s one of the clearest signs your system is stuck in “on.”

Your body doesn’t just turn that off because the day is over.

đź’«A simple place to start:

Give your system something that signals it can soften.
Herbal support, slower breathing, less stimulation before bed.

It doesn’t have to be complicated.

If this has been your normal for a while, there’s usually a deeper pattern underneath it.

That’s where I go deeper with clients.
