***This holding happens in the body. Tracking impulses to act that come from the rescuer complex and knowing that this energy is potentially conflated with sympathetic nervous system activation. Acting on an impulse to rescue can temporarily relieve tension and stress while reinforcing habituated ways of being in relationship.
