The Strawberry and the Anishinaabe
The strawberry is special to the Anishinaabe because it is connected to love, family, healing, and the land. The strawberry is sometimes called the heart berry because its shape resembles a heart. It reminds people to care for one another and to live with kindness and gratitude.
Strawberries are also considered a medicine. The plant can be used traditionally in different ways, and its berries provide nourishment. More importantly, the strawberry can be medicine for the spirit and heart. Gathering and sharing berries can bring people together, strengthen relationships, and remind us to respect the gifts that come from the Earth.

For the Anishinaabe, the strawberry teaches that medicine is not only something that heals the body. Medicine can also be the love, connection, and teachings that help keep a person, family, and community strong.

I didn't create this because the world needed another dessert.

I created it because I wanted to give my community a new way to experience local food.

For years I have studied plant medicine and grown many of my own ingredients. I wanted to combine that knowledge with something joyful that everyone could enjoy. The result is a frozen sweet treat made with local, organic, and regeneratively grown ingredients, including homegrown tulsi.

Using my commercial snow machine, I transform fresh liquids into soft, airy flakes that melt on your tongue. It is unlike any frozen dessert you have had before.

To me, this is about more than flavor. It is about helping people reconnect with the land, support local growers, and discover how amazing real food can taste when it is grown with care.

Good food should nourish your body, your community, and your sense of place.
