This week the EMS community lost someone amazing, Dawn Neal-Ellsworth❤️ At this time the Fire community is also dealing with loss. We feel it is important to acknowledge the loss of Chief David Gagnon (Cottekill Fire Department) as well as Michael Sass (Kingston City Fire) EMS and Fire work hand in hand on many occasions. Hurley Ambulance would like both departments to know they have our thoughts and support during this time of loss.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Dawn. For those who did not know Dawn, she was a Captain for Woodstock company 5. This amazing woman fought a long battle with cancer. Dawn fought harder than most while some probably had no clue. While fighting, Dawn managed to be a mother, wife, friend, mentor, confidant and just an amazing human being with a smile on her face. This is a huge loss to the EMS community. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at home and her Woodstock company 5 family❤️❤️

Today, Hurley Ambulance participated in the reunification drill at E. Myer School. This drill brought together the Kingston City School District, the Kingston Police Department, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Ulster County Emergency Management, Hurley Fire Department, West Hurley Fire Department, and Hurley Ambulance. The drill went well and was great opportunity for communication between agencies providing an important service to the families and community.
