As the House Energy and Commerce Committee Health Subcommittee prepares for a hearing on Lowering Health Care Costs for All Americans: Examining Policies to Increase Health Care Transparency, the committee should build on recent Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) reforms by continuing to increase transparency in the health insurance marketplace and examining anti-competitive practices like vertical integration. Great work American Pharmacists Association National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA) National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) National Community Pharmacists Association The U.S. House Ways and Means Committee has advanced the Ensuring Community Access to Pharmacist Services Act (ECAPS), now known as the Main Street Pharmacy Access Act (H.R. 3164/S. 2426).

This is the furthest legislation paying pharmacists under Medicare Part B has advanced in Congress—and it would not have happened without your advocacy, your outreach, and your voice.

APhA applauds the House Ways and Means Committee for advancing the Main Street Pharmacy Access Act (H.R. 3164), helping expand seniors’ access to pharmacist-provided care especially in rural and underserved communities.
