During the celebration, leaders thanked staff for their dedication, shared updates on continued growth and success, and distributed new badge lanyards. Team members also enjoyed breakfast and ice cream as part of the anniversary festivities.

Welcome to the 2026 RWJBarnabas Health Student Nurse Externs!

This summer, we proudly welcome 100+ nursing students from across the region for an immersive clinical experience designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional nursing practice. Over the next 10 weeks, each extern will be paired one-on-one with an experienced RN preceptor, providing individualized mentorship, guidance, and hands-on learning opportunities in a variety of specialty areas.

Through direct patient care experiences, interdisciplinary collaboration, and exposure to the culture of nursing excellence that defines RWJBarnabas Health, these future nurses will build the skills, confidence, and professional relationships that will help shape their careers. We’re excited to support their journey and invest in the next generation of nursing professionals!
