Our board-certified Music Therapists bring the healing power of music to our patients and their families every day. Whether it’s a familiar song that sparks a memory, a soothing melody that eases anxiety, or a legacy recording that brings comfort, their work is truly heartfelt and impactful.

This past year, we’ve grown our team to 10 full-time Music Therapists, including two dedicated pediatric MTs. Together, they provide compassionate care through music, helping patients find peace, connection, and comfort.

Music has the power to comfort, connect, and heal. At Trustbridge, our board-certified Music Therapists use live, patient-preferred music in tandem with research-based therapeutic music experiences to meet clinical goals of patients at the end of life and their loved ones.

What does a hospice Music Therapist do?
• Meets with patients and families to understand their holistic needs
• Offers an alternative way to process emotions, evoke meaningful memories, and find connection
• Modifies musical dynamics to regulate breathing, reduce pain perception, and lower heart rate
• Creates tangible legacies, like integrating a patient’s heartbeat into a special song and providing a recording to the family
• Supports families through grief and loss

Are you a music therapy student looking for an immersive and supportive internship experience? Trustbridge offers a 28-week, 1,040-hour clinical placement for four interns each year, with start dates in January and June. Each session includes two positions based in Palm Beach County.

Our internship provides hands-on experience in hospice, palliative, and bereavement care, with personalized support from our team of 10+ music therapists. Interns gradually transition from observing to leading sessions, developing confidence and independence while managing a caseload of 20-30 patients by midterm. Additional benefits include training in electronic medical records, access to instruments and resources, professional development opportunities, and a $12,000 stipend with mileage reimbursement.

The Addison Hines Music Therapy Program at Trustbridge provides music therapy interns with:

* $12,000 stipend plus mileage reimbursement

* Immersive hospice and palliative care experience in a variety of settings such as assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient units, and patient homes

* Opportunities to shadow and receive supervision from a growing music therapy department, including 6 full-time MTs

* Individualized goals tailored to each intern

* Integration into interdisciplinary care groups and participation in associated weekly meetings

* Interdepartmental collaboration with our bereavement and business development departments

* Involvement in process improvement and creative initiatives

* Use of electronic medical record systems and music technology platforms

* Access to instruments and additional musical/clinical resources
