"What a complete honor it was to have had the incomparable Robert Thurman in our midst.
While we at Eudemonia are saddened to learn of his passing, we are deeply humbled to have had this giant walk amongst us last fall. His wit, sense of humor, and multi-dimensional understanding of Tibetan Buddhism made him unlike anyone who had—or likely ever will—grace our stages. There's simply no one else like Tenzin Bob.
While we rarely give a glimpse behind the curtain into what special surprises we are concocting for an upcoming summit, it feels tender and meaningful to share that we were in contact with his team to bring him back this year, not just to teach, to practice and to be the jovial merrymaker on campus... but because we'd wanted to bestow a first-annual Eudemonia "life well lived" award to his many lifelong accolades. It felt only fitting that Bob would be the first to wear this mantle.
