Congratulations to our Executive VP & Chief Medical Officer, Belma Andrić, MD, on receiving the prestigious AMA Foundation's Excellence in Medicine Pride in the Profession Award.

This national honor recognizes physicians who embody the true spirit of medicine through extraordinary, compassionate care and a commitment to serving medically underserved populations. The award celebrates leaders who go beyond clinical care to advocate for vulnerable patients and help address the unique needs of the communities they serve. Dr. Andrić is one of only two physicians nationwide to receive this award in the Pride in the Profession category this year.

Throughout her career, Dr. Andrić has championed access to high-quality, patient-centered care, helping strengthen health outcomes for individuals and families across Palm Beach County. Her dedication to service, advocacy and compassion reflects the very values at the heart of our mission.

The Lakeside Health Advisory Board recently welcomed two new board members, Brian Stinson and Amanda Wedgworth, and elected new officers as the Board continues its important work supporting Lakeside Medical Center and advocating for quality health care in the rural Glades communities.

• Caroline Villanueva, Secretary

Tammy Jackson-Moore and Eddie Rhodes continue as valued, experienced members on the Lakeside Health Advisory Board, which serves as a vital connection between the community and Lakeside Medical Center, the Health Care District's rural teaching hospital that is partnering with Tampa General Medical Center. The Board also helps raise awareness about the Health Care District's community health center in Belle Glade and the School Health program that keeps public school students across the county and in the Glades healthy and ready to learn.

It’s Men’s Health Week — a reminder that your health matters. Men are often more likely to put off preventive care, even though regular checkups and screenings can help detect health concerns early. In fact, nearly one in two men don’t get an annual physical exam.

Preventive care, regular screenings, physical activity, good nutrition and mental well-being all play an important role in staying healthy. Small steps today can make a big difference tomorrow.

You're invited to our Monthly Health Lecture Series in the Glades, in partnership with the Palm Beach County Library System, tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

In recognition of Men’s Health Week, this session will feature Bryan Dawkins, MD, a board-certified family physician at Lakeside Medical Center, the Heath Care District's rural teaching hospital in Belle Glade. Dr. Dawkins will share insights on preventive care, stress and burnout, sleep, nutrition, regular screenings and taking charge of your health.
