Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches Serving Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties with services for blind Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties.

Founded in 1946, the Lighthouse is a private, non-profit agency providing direct education and rehabilitation services to people who are blind or visually impaired in Palm Beach, Martin, St. We serve thousands of individuals of all ages: children and young adults, people of working age and our area’s fastest growing population with age-related vision loss. We also provide services to family member

s and caregivers of those who are blind. We provide consultation and education to businesses, agencies, institutions and organizations in the community who employ or interact with persons who are blind or visually impaired. With the exception of low vision services, no fees are charged, and services are funded almost entirely by charitable support. The Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches is fully accredited by the National Accreditation Council for the Blind and Low Vision (NAC), and is also a member of the Florida Association of Agencies Serving the Blind (FAASB). The Lighthouse is partnered with Gulfstream Goodwill Industries and funding is partially provided by the State of Florida Division of Blind Services.

This recognition reflects the dedication of our team and the impact of the education, training, and resources we provide to individuals who are blind or visually impaired throughout our community.

Last Friday, we gathered in our favorite white attire for our All White Party: Farewell to Summer and what a wonderful morning it was! From coffee and muffins to fresh fruit, door prizes, laughter, and great company, we enjoyed a beautiful time together as we said goodbye to summer in South Florida. We were also honored to welcome Patrice Schroeder from 211 HelpLine in recognition of National Su***de Prevention Month. Patrice shared important information, resources, and reminders about the importance of reaching out, supporting one another, and knowing that help is available.

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event so special. Your smiles, positive energy, and sense of community made the morning one to remember!

🎨 Experience Art in a Whole New Way: Full Circle

Lighthouse friends, you're invited to the opening reception of Full Circle, a sensory art exhibition by artist Arlet Gomez that brings poetry and visual art together through Braille poetry.

Featuring the poetry of Denise Irene Marsh, the exhibition invites visitors to not only see the artwork, but to feel and experience it through touch and Braille in this inclusive artistic experience for all.

Lighthouse participants had an amazing time at a cooking class with Chef Greg at Recipes for Success! They rolled up their sleeves and learned how to make pasta from scratch, prepared delicious meatballs, and discovered the difference between fresh and dried herbs. 🌿 Of course, the best part was sitting down together to enjoy their delicious creations for lunch! What a fun and tasty day filled with learning, teamwork, and plenty of smiles. ❤️
