One step at a time.
When Linda Carter arrived for her first physical therapy appointment at Ozarks Healthcare, she came in a wheelchair.
Just a few weeks later, she was walking.
After a serious motor vehicle accident resulted in a below-the-knee amputation and multiple surgeries on her ankle, Linda began her recovery with determination and the support of her care team. Once she received her prosthetic, she started learning how to walk again - and after only a few therapy sessions, she was on her feet.
Today, Linda continues physical therapy twice a week, working on strength, balance and the skills she needs to keep moving toward independence.
Her recovery isn’t finished, but she’s no longer looking at what comes next from a wheelchair.
She’s walking toward it. One step at a time. 💚
