This isn't about birth, it is about AI. AI data centers are absolutely awful. They destroy fresh water, pollute ground water, cost taxpayers money, take up thousands of acres of usable land, are BILLIONS of dollars and are kicking people out of their homes.

AI is dangerous, unreliable, and WE DO NOT NEED IT. If you use google, type -AI after the prompt to get actual websites, not stolen information. Better yet, use a browser like duckduckgo

Look into your city and closest data centers. We need to collectively stop them from being built.

Also, we need to stop a Chilean billionaire from mining in the pristine boundary waters. The amount of money being spent on this useless war could have solved the healthcare crisis in America and fixed homelessness.

We don't need AI. Stop using chatgpt. We need water to survive as a species and the world is in crisis mode. We have no fema and the proposed AI data center in Utah (that the people said no to) would be 25 miles long and raise the temperature 28° and Utah is in a severe drought!!

Colorados lakes and river and drying out. People don't seem to know what is happening right now in the world. We need to rise up as a community and stop this corruption. Stop using AI

This absolutely fantastic first time family chose to have their baby at home, and it went beautifully. They hired an amazing doula to help support them as well!

Giving birth at home with your first baby just makes sense.

In 2019 I offered an apprenticeship to Jen with Sacred Space, and she attended 4 births with me over the course of a few months, before deciding to stop and focus on her family. There was NO apprenticeship with Geneabirth at all until 2024. From Sept 2024-August 2025 she attended 17 births with Geneabirth. There were no emergency situations at any of these births or handled by her at these births.

The PEP process to become a certified professional midwife takes anywhere from 2-5 years. Students attend a certain number of births as an assistant and then as a primary midwife under supervision, which is about 50 births altogether. In my practice, I am very clear 100 births is ideal and will give a good baseline of knowledge. Midwifery care and doula care are not the same thing and have a very different skill set. There is also a long skills sheet, skills exam and written test at the end of the PEP process. During this training you're able to have a midwife help to guide you, as well as be there when you're facing new challenges. Ideally you have seen and handled all emergencies that happen in a birth setting, from managing a hemorrhage, resuscitation and shoulder dystocia, to knowing when more help is needed and transport is appropriate. You also navigate prenatal and postnatal issues and refer when needed.

When you are done with your apprenticeship, you are sent forth with the blessing of your preceptor.

The beauty of homebirth is that there are many types of midwives, just like there are many types of people, all with unique life experiences. It is also something women and families have fought hard to make legal in Minnesota and it should be protected. Traditional midwifery doesn't need certification or licensure in Minnesota, which is only one of two places that offer that.

I think different types of paths to midwifery remain important. As her previous preceptor, I did not feel that her apprenticeship was complete. I did not give my blessing to Jen and while I cannot speak to what she is telling people, I don't want Geneabirth to become entangled with any future outcomes.

I need to rehome my brother cats (5 yo) as they are extremely unhappy with my busy house and the amount of cats I currently have. I rescued them 5 years ago and everything was great until my eldest cat started to go into kidney failure last summer (he since passed, he had diabetes for years) and my youngest cat got extra wild.

They are great boys. Indoor/outdoor cats, both neutered and chipped. Not vaccinated.

I just need to have less in my life. I'm too overwhelmed and they need a quieter home with no other cats or dogs. They love older kids and are happy lap cats and would also do well on a homestead and around chickens (with no dogs).

I am looking for someone to share my office space with! I have a large reception area, a playroom for kids, and two different office spaces, as well as a storage room for your extra supplies.

Dear Community,

I want to share an important update with you.

After much reflection, I have decided to step away from the joint practice model and begin transitioning into my own independent midwifery practice. This decision has not been easy, but it is a necessary and meaningful shift to honor myself, my family, and the families I am so grateful to serve. It is time for me to slow down.

I will continue to serve as a primary midwife with Geneabirth through March 2026, and during this transition period I remain fully committed to the care of Geneabirth families. Even though we won’t be a joint practice anymore, I will also continue assisting Sarah at births, as well as supporting other midwives in our community, just as I have for many years.

I have been deeply honored to serve Geneabirth families for the better part of the last decade. I am overflowing with gratitude for my partnership with Sarah, for the trust of our clients, and for the countless births and relationships that have shaped me as a midwife and as a person. This work has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, next to being a mother, and my passion for serving families has never dimmed.

Looking ahead, I will be moving toward an intentional, smaller, and slower midwifery practice, primarily through word-of-mouth referrals. I plan to take 1–2 primary clients per month, allowing me to continue serving families wholeheartedly with presence and care while also spending more time at home with my own babies that are growing too too fast.

For families we have previously served together: we encourage you to reach out and request your team again with future pregnancies.

I did order a mill, but it's on backorder until late January and I would love to start milling flour ASAP for health reasons. Does anyone have a good quality mill they just don't use they could sell, or thought they would use but it's not their thing?
