At LUX Infusion, we help patients and families navigate those transitions with specialized clinical support, reliable access to therapy, and a team that understands the unique needs of the bleeding disorders community.

Hereโ€™s to a school year filled with learning, growing, and confidently taking part in the moments that matter.

For families managing a bleeding disorder, back to school means more than new supplies and new schedules. It also means making sure teachers, school nurses, coaches, and staff understand a studentโ€™s needsโ€”and know what to do when those needs arise.

A 504 Plan can be an important tool for putting those accommodations in writing and helping students with hemophilia, VWD, and other bleeding disorders participate safely and confidently in school.

What should a 504 Plan include? Who should be involved? And what should families consider before the first bell rings?

Weโ€™re breaking it down here: https://luxinfusion.com/504-plans-for-students-with-bleeding-disorders-a-parents-guide/

Hemophilia A and B may be among the most recognized bleeding disorders, but theyโ€™re only part of the picture. Von Willebrand disease, rare factor deficiencies, inherited platelet disorders, and acquired bleeding disorders can each affect the bodyโ€™s ability to control bleedingโ€”and each can require a highly individualized approach to care.

For some patients, that means lifelong prophylaxis and bleed prevention. For others, it may mean securing a difficult-to-source therapy or responding quickly when an acquired disorder appears unexpectedly.

At LUX Infusion, specialized bleeding disorder care goes beyond providing therapy. It includes clinical expertise, precise dose management, reliable access to factor, patient education, and support for at-home self-infusionโ€”helping patients confidently manage their care wherever they are in their journey.

For the bleeding disorders community, the history of hepatitis C is deeply personal.

Before reliable blood screening and viral inactivation became standard, many people with hemophilia were exposed to HCV through the very clotting factor treatments they depended on. Today, the treatment landscape looks dramatically different.

Hepatitis C is now curable in more than 95% of cases with modern direct-acting antiviral treatmentโ€”but many people remain untreated.

In our latest blog, we look at what the bleeding disorders community should know about hepatitis C today, from testing and treatment advances to the importance of coordinated care.

For people living with bleeding disorders, every infusion protects more than today. It protects tomorrow.

Staying consistent with treatment can help preserve joint health, reduce the risk of future complications, and give patients the confidence to keep living life on their own terms. That long-term perspective is at the heart of everything we do at LUX Infusion.

That's why consistent access to therapy and a care team you can rely on matters every step of the way.

At LUX Infusion, we're committed to making treatment as seamless as possible so patients can stay focused on living, not logistics.

Hepatitis C is now curable. For the bleeding disorders community, that sentence means something different.

Before the early 1990s, contaminated clotting factor concentrates passed HCV to a disproportionate number of patients. Not through any exposure they chose, but through the treatments keeping them alive.

This World Hepatitis Day, we reflect on how far weโ€™ve come, honor those impacted, and recognize why closing the remaining treatment gaps still matters.

Among older generations of people with hemophilia, hepatitis C infection was tragically common. Not through any choice they made, but through the treatments that kept them alive.

This World Hepatitis Day, we honor that history and the community that has carried it with more resilience than most people will ever understand.

Today's treatment is a completely different story. Eight to twelve weeks of medication. A cure rate above 95%. If you or someone you know in the bleeding disorders community has never been tested or tried treatment in an earlier era and walked away, this day is a good moment to revisit that.

Living well with a bleeding disorder starts long before a bleed.

Managing a bleeding disorder isn't just about responding to bleedsโ€”it's about staying one step ahead of them.

Routine treatment, regular check-ins, and a care team that understands your goals can help protect joint health, support an active lifestyle, and reduce complications over time.

At LUX Infusion, we're proud to partner with patients, families, and providers who believe proactive care makes all the difference.
