More than 65% of all telehealth visits cover behavioral health issues, according to new data from Trilliant Health. That's a 47% increase from 2018, and shows that telehealth has fundamentally reshaped how behavioral health care is delivered. But critical gaps remain. ITP can help hospitals, health systems, and jails fill those gaps. Learn more at integratedtelehealth.com.

Here’s a humble brag, or should we say Humboldt brag?

We started working with Humboldt County Memorial in 2019, providing the hospital's emergency department with behavioral health assessment and placement services. Today, we also provide them with outpatient services (teletherapy). Our ED team has worked 85 cases so far this year. When patients needed an inpatient program, we helped them find placement within an hour and 20 minutes on average.

Our hospital services director recently met with Ashley Shillington, emergency department director at Humboldt County Memorial, who told us she’s impressed by those placement times and the consistency ITP brings to their behavioral health services.

“Things have been going very well with ITP,” Shillington said. “Having been in this position for about a year now, I’ve really noticed how impressive the placement times are. I truly appreciate the partnership and the consistency ITP brings to our work.”

We love impressing our hospital partners almost as much as we love helping patients.

We routinely check in with our hospital partners. Our hospital services director recently spoke with Bell Koch, emergency department director at Sauk Prairie Healthcare, who said ITP’s placement coordination services have helped the hospital save time and improve patient throughput. Looking at our total case load from November to April, across all the hospitals we serve, our median placement time is one hour and 19 minutes. That’s across 1,262 patients who came into an emergency department for behavioral health issues and required placement in an inpatient unit.
"ITP enables our emergency department patients to get timely psychiatric evaluations,” Koch said. “Their inpatient placement coordination has resulted in significant time savings for our staff while improving throughput. Our patients appreciate being able to speak with a mental health professional during their visits."

We'd like to thank Boone County, IA Sheriff Andrew Godzicki and jail administrator Abbey Swank for talking to KWBG Radio about their partnership with ITP to address the behavioral health needs of their inmates. They joined our president, Doug Wilson, for an interview that covered how the Boone County Jail uses telehealth to diagnose and treat inmates experiencing mental health issues.

"We've definitely seen an increase in it in the last several years, so this has been a great resource for our inmates to have that, where they can visit with a provider just from within our jail," said Swank.

"We actually have providers available 24-7, so even if it's a crisis situation after hours, it's simply calling our 800 number, and we will get them seen that same day right away to make sure they've got access to the medications and the resources they need," Wilson explained.

Heidi Bradley, a psychiatric nurse practitioner with Integrated Telehealth Partners, recently spoke with Dustin Hoffmann at Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network about the mental health challenges farmers face. Bradley explained that uncertainty is one of the biggest anxiety drivers for producers, especially when many of the factors affecting their operations remain outside their control. While farmers are known for their resilience and independence, that same mindset can sometimes make it harder to recognize when additional support is needed.

ITP founder Doug Wilson recently shared the story of how he built a business around the idea of revolutionizing the behavioral health industry using telehealth. Iowa-based writer Tej Dhawan just published Wilson's story on Substack. His piece, "A Platform for People Who Help People," chronicles how Wilson went from losing his job at a pharmaceutical company to fulfilling an entrepreneurial dream of running his own healthcare company. It's a story about hard work, faith, and making the right connections.

Doug Wagner, morning show host on WOC and WMT, in Iowa spoke with Darcy Wiebrand, an ITP therapist, this morning about the importance of mental health services for veterans. Wiebrand, a veteran herself, explained how veterans are often reluctant to seek out mental health services, but once they do, their lives change for the better.

Doug spoke with Integrated Telehealth Partners’ Darcy Wiebrand, and Veteran and Clinician, about the 177,000 veterans in the state of Iowa and their specific mental health challenges. How is ITP supporting Veterans’ mental health? https://www.integratedtelehealth.com/
