We have a new class offering in partnership with Des Moines Art Center - The Art of Mortality.
A serious illness can change the way we experience ourselves and the world around us. Along the way, many people find themselves grieving the life they once knew while also discovering new ways of living with hope, purpose, and presence.
This workshop offers cancer survivors a compassionate space to reflect on these experiences through guided conversation, journaling, and creative expression. Together, we will explore how grief and gratitude, fear and resilience, loss and hope can exist side by side. Through simple art-making activities, participants will have the opportunity to honor their journey, express what words alone cannot capture, and connect with others in a supportive community.
No artistic experience is necessary. Whether you choose to share your story or simply create in quiet reflection, this workshop invites you to acknowledge what has changed, celebrate what remains, and consider how we continue to live meaningful lives in the presence of grief.
Space is limited and registration is free - join us for these 4 sessions, starting on Monday, September 14 and ending Monday, October 5th.
