🧦 A little mismatched sock fun for a meaningful cause!

Yesterday, our Iowa Clinic team celebrated Crazy Sock Day by showing off their most colorful, creative socks in support of Down Syndrome Awareness Month!

October 21 is a nod to Trisomy 21, the extra copy of chromosome 21 that causes Down syndrome. Wearing crazy, mismatched socks is a fun way to celebrate individuality, raise awareness and encourage inclusion.

Putting our trivia knowledge to the test for a great cause! 🧠💙

This past Saturday, members of The Iowa Clinic team joined Can Do Cancer for its annual Trivia Night in Des Moines, helping support adult cancer patients and their families across Central Iowa.

Together, the community raised more than $141,500 to help provide meals during chemotherapy, house cleaning during treatment, peer mentorship and other meaningful support for those facing cancer.

Please join us in welcoming Demi O’Brien, MD, to The Iowa Clinic! 👋

Specializing in family medicine, Dr. O’Brien enjoys caring for patients of all ages and building relationships with individuals and families over time. Her clinical interests include pediatrics, women’s health and obesity management, and she values creating an environment where patients feel comfortable, heard and supported in their care. She was also recognized with the Resident Teaching Award and Resident Quality Improvement Award in 2023.

Outside of work, Dr. O’Brien enjoys spending time with family, playing board games, reading, building Legos, traveling, visiting national parks and spending time with her dog, Gertie.
